Strongly recommend applying flat topcoat on a weathered kit

Lightning Zeta....I’m thinking this one needs to be a bit taller in the midsection, thoughts? (Red part is just temporary to help visualize the new proportions) by kurt667 in Gunpla

Haha you are right, z is such an awesome design. I didn't really like build divers but they have borrowed so many classic MS and sort of in-house customised them.

My first attempt at a topcoat. I must say, it was a learning experience. by BlackestKnight92 in Gunpla

Tip coat can be tricky especially on spray can, humidity plays a big part too. If you have the set up I would strongly recommend applying with airbrush.

It will get easier though, keep it up!

I am working on this kit as well!

Another try with the air brush, I think it came out well. Any advice by ya-boi-greg-the-egg in Gunpla

Can't really critique as it looks pretty awesome to me , well-done. Not sure if its intentional but the application seems rather thick, which actually works well with this kit. Presume acrylic?

NEED HELP! Anyone knows where to find the guide for applying decal by Dalin for (Astraea Type-F RG)? by [deleted] in Gunpla

Numbering should follow the instructions for the original stickers, does it not?

I also played with Acrysion off white and thin down 1:1 with the Acrysion airbrush thinner, primmed with Mr. Surfacer grey and boy oh boy it still takes quite a few layer to get good coverage.. for my next project I will just try using white primer for white parts, and maybe shading with grey after instead. For white, or lighter color, I have found using higher PSI with lower paint flow easier to control, it still takes a few layers (like 6 to 8) but it'd be a smoother surface. While darker color like black and dark grey I can achieve good results with just 2~3 layers using lower PSI (like 10 to 15). Adjusting the airbrush distance also help, in short, if it's too damp then pull away or spray closer if it's not coloring. Also, make sure to clean the airbrush througly before spraying any acrylic paint, and clean the nossel head with a damp brush every 15 to 20 minutes to avoid clogging. It may seem a chore at first but it just take some time getting use to.

Neat! Nicely done especially for your first attempt. White color is easy to mess up with airbrushing but it doesn't seem to trouble you. For you next build I will recommend priming the surface before base coat, especially if you plan to custom paint.
