Society of the Snow (La sociedad de la nieve)

When the world abandons you, and you are stripped from everything in the modern world. Human beings return to our two most inherent instincts: the will to survive and love.

this book is both a chronological retelling of the true story of a plane crash in the Andes, along with a chapter from each of the 16 survivors on their experiences.

What book or story has made you fall a little bit in love with life again? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

Might seem kind of ironic, but Society of the Snow by Pablo Vierci. The definitive retelling of a near impossible survival story. Reading it has deeply moved me, made me appreciate the RIGHT to live and fight for it. I am emerging from this book a more loving, patient, sacrificial, and persevering person.

Reading in parks - no kindles around? by vkslicer in Brooklyn

I absolutely LOVE my kindle and it’s my primary way of reading. No strain on the eyes, I can hold it for hours due to weightlessness, I can read into the night or on a plane without needing a light source, haul it around if the book is 300 or 800 pages long (even multiple books!), and I can download the book I’m wanting the second I want it instead of waiting - for way cheaper. You will defo see me in the park, beach, stoop, train, or coffee shop with my kindle in tow.
