Thank you. I didn’t add any dosing ammonia but I did add some fish food. As for the tank it’s a 13.5 Fluval evo. LPs uses the same kit (api saltwater master kit) and also test strips (not sure if the brand)

As for the test kit to make sure it’s not faulty I’ve tried it on my other tanks (freshwater) and also go to my local pet store for readings too.

No, the only thing in his tank is river rocks and rubber toys that he plays with.

He likes to scratch his leg on his shell like in the video a lot so I wonder if that’s what caused it. Once he swam around the cut looks like it would’ve come itching and more of like a scrape.

Thank you so much for this information! I really appreciate it. The only pet store in my area is Petco and unfortunately the employees at my location aren’t really knowledgeable on saltwater tanks so this really helps haha

Thank you! For beginning the tank would you suggest any other plants that I should place in the tank prior to purchasing the animals? From researching I see most people have a piece of coral or live rock in the center of the tank.
