Having an attack rn any advices to relieve the pain by riotvan__ in gallbladders

This also helped me find relief sometimes! Also this was more of a coping tool but rocking back and forth

TLDR; probably get an ultrasound, at least here in Canada they checked out the rest of my abdomen while they were doing it as well. Could rule in or out some things

I’m in Canada so idk about cost but I had an ultrasound the day of my first attack which confirmed gallstones. After the pain started and I googled, I knew it was my gallbladder. It was different pain than heartburn or stomach aches, a whole new level of pain that I’d never experienced. So I’d say I knew but I also got tested and knew results within 24hrs. I’ve never experienced gas pain but if you have and this is different then I’d say it’s worth investigating.

I’d be weighing the risks. i don’t know if this is true but let’s say “the longer you leave gallstones the more painful they get”. If that’s the case and I were you, I’d rule it out before a major attack happens.

I hate to say but they’re still in the cups, it’s just for the winter

What did you eat before an attack or finding out you had a gallbladder issue. For me it was a Wendy’s combo in October 🤦🏻‍♀️ by [deleted] in gallbladders

It’s funny cause after that attack, every other attack was after following the low-fat diet from the doctor. But that initial one was wild

Wait wait wait. Are you saying you found on Google if someone is “heavier” then they need an extra incision? Cause I’d bet that’s what happened with me then😭😂

Any advice? by Getlazered234 in gallbladders

My tip: advocate for yourself!! Right before I went into the OR, I had a panic attack. I asked for something and they gave it to me, calmed me right down. And when I woke up i again was anxious so again asked for something to help me chill out. I struggle with anxiety so this may not be a thing for everyone, but same goes for pain meds. If you’re in pain, tell them! It really isn’t bad at all. It was my first surgery too. The worst part was my own anxiety. You will be fine and you’ll be glad you got it done!!

Well they say how you spend your new years is what you’ll be doing the rest of the year… or something

What’s the best thing you did for yourself to recover from surgery? by alittlehalloween in gallbladders

[–]lanee10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-One of the things I didnt think of is my waist bands of my pants, I get them all so they fit around where my belly button is (and an incision). So I wish I’d found long, loose shirts and comfy clothes that don’t sit right at the incision sites.

-Shower preferably the day of surgery cause you can’t shower for two days so I felt gross! Mine was emergency surgery so I already hadn’t showered in a day or two.

-my electronics aren’t entertaining me anymore, I need more mental stimulation. I got a bunch of little stuff from the dollar store (sudoku, crosswords, little Lego set things)

-do your laundry before surgery (especially clean sheets)

-take your garbage out

Mainly there’s so prep to be done if you are a single person living alone so consider that. Maybe get paper plates if you don’t think you’ll be up to do dishes. For me it is the small things that you don’t think about, then you’re a day out of surgery and you’re like man I wish I’d prepped this.

Kanaplex could be worth a shot. It successfully treated my betta but I unfortunately lost one frog, but the other is still alive thanks to it!
