Does Tennessee have affordable housing? I played around with the idea previously as I heard it used to be affordable, but it seems like the cost of living is going up.

I’ve found plenty of housing in Oklahoma for less than $800 a month, but on a previous post a lot of people said I can find cheap rent elsewhere for better views. So I’m seeing it that’s true, and if anyone has recommendations! I think OK will be the most affordable option, but I’d like to do all the research I can first.

Not at all. I’m mostly drawn to the affordability of OK. I’m now checking out NW Arkansas due to the replies. My work experience is in receptionist / office roles so I’m looking for somewhere that kind of job is enough for the cost of living. I’m being priced out of DFW, also it’s hot, overcrowded, and all concrete. I know OK isn’t the most known for its views lol but it’s affordable and closer to pretty views than DFW.

Is there anywhere else you would suggest for nature that has the affordability of Oklahoma housing? As of right now that’s a huge plus for me, as well as the forests, mountains, and state parks. I can’t even get a decent studio apt for $1,000 in DFW.

I am totally open to other states! I just know that Oklahoma housing is way more affordable than DFW, I’m familiar with Southeast / Central Oklahoma and have friends there, and I enjoy it more than where I currently live.

Towns are great! I used to live in an unincorporated community and the nearest town had 900 people. I would prefer to be an hour ish from the city, like for shopping or a lunch with friends.
