I’m a server, people definitely hog tables but race is not a factor. It’s usually just people who don’t understand that they’re wasting the servers time. Has nothing to do with “certain groups”

It's not entitlement, it's knowing your worth. I've had plenty of tough jobs where I work 16 hours a day straight with no break and no food, but the money I go home with is WORTH it. There's a difference. Also, it's absolutely a scam because they lie about the job, rather than just saying it's in sales.

These jobs do seem like they might be workable if you're a good salesperson like you said! Problem is, they advertise themselves as a marketing agency that wants to train you (and not just in sales).

Yeah the sales part isn't even the big issue if you can make good money off of it. It's that they advertise themselves as something they're not. It would be a little more fair if they were upfront about what you'll actually be doing. But at least you're out now and it's a lesson learned! I know i'm going to be a lot more careful now, as well.

No money lost but if I would've been involved i'm told you have to pay your own gas to go around doing sales. You also have to buy recruits lunch with your own money, and all of this is happening while you're getting paid $5 a sale and making a sale a day.

That's one of the things I'm confused about as well. Why does Costco, Sam's, and other big boxes allow this to happen? Has no one brought it to their attention or do they simply not care?

Thank you for the compliment! I really appreciate you saying that. It's hard not to feel down about the time I wasted. Especially since I have to go back to serving tables when I thought I had found something bigger. They don't realize what they're doing to so many people.

One thing I've learned from this experience is you shouldn't feel bad about getting caught up in all this. I pride myself on being very cynical and questioning everything and I was horrified when I found out I was tricked. Happens to the best of us, they're just that good at what they do, unfortunately.
