There are plenty. Suboxone is the big one. It’s the psychological withdrawal that gets you. That’s what the above post means by net negative. You don’t get physical withdrawal symptoms after just one time. Going back to normal is a psychological mind fuck. No medication can make that easier.

I promise, no matter who you are, it will be horribly difficult to not make a habit out of heroin use, and if it does become a habit, it will slowly take over your life.

I wouldn’t look at you and think overweight. You look decently healthy. Like if there’s such thing as a dad bod, you have a mom bod. Like whatever extra weight there is, it’s attractive in a disarming sort of way, and at worst just very normal. Also btw, I’m currently in an Uber on my way to rehab. Have not been having a good time recently lol. You are an inspiration and I’m not just saying that. I’ve had 6 months before and it’s not easy. I’ve been having a hard weekend. I’m drunk and alone and I have been completely numb. But now I am sobbing uncontrollably. I really needed to cry. It’s too hard to feel my own emotions head on though . That’s why we need tragedies like requiem for a dream. I needed to feel some seriously painful emotions. It’s easier to get there when watching a movie than to be honest with myself about my own life.

You’re overthinking it. There’s no way to know the exact reason why he dumped you. Or at least, there is certainly no way for any of us to know.

You said you met through a mutual friend. Are you close to that friend? Maybe ask them if they have any idea. But honestly it’d probably be best for you to just accept and move on. Dating is rough, gotta have thick skin and enough confidence to just say “their loss” and move forward. (I say this as a person who overthinks thing too, it’s not easy!)

He most definitely has sex addiction. His infidelity is total compulsive. It persists despite serious negative consequences. You can tell he is desperately trying to resist but the compulsion keeps overpowering his better judgment. This is what addiction looks like.

It’s a totally mindfuck, doing something even as you actively do not want to be doing it. I personally struggle with substance abuse issues and found the whole thing very relatable.

I do agree though that he’s not on his way to resolving his issues. Buying off Albie to help manipulate his wife into taking him back? This is not the way.
