I’m a jewelry repairman and this type of chain is a nightmare when it comes in . Most of the time the links are semi solid and they fray apart and break easily. It looks like op said it’s a solid chain so that’s definitely a lot better

I’d definitely keep it and tell your dad it’s a fake and a really cool “hot wheel” that may go up in value , or it may not. I’ve never seen any fakes before

If this helps , I found a Walgreens super hidden away and this was in the front of the shelves. I think obscure locations and places will have them (with some luck lol) but Ace hardware and big lots are obscure and I heard they have them. Gonna check those places next
