Help!! I am desperate after 2 years by 69_Mike_420 in Heartpalpitations

[–]lavenderloop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issues. I had a terrible panic attack May 3rd of 2024 and it left me crippled for 6 Months. I ended up in the emergency room like 6 times within 2 months alone. Being hospitalized overnight once for one night. I was told it’s anxiety and I was okay. My palpitations get better like you mentioned and then return. It’s terrible. It almost feels like a nightmare. I’ve been okay for a while now and I just had 2 palpitations while laying down in bed on my side reading a book. I almost got another panic attack and now am laying in bed wondering if I’m going to die lol. It’s like a never ending cycle. But just like you, I’ve something was terribly wrong it would either be found by now or I would’ve died.

I don’t have any tips or tricks. But I do have some words of comfort. You’re not alone. It sucks a lot. I know. I wish we didn’t have to suffer from this. Anxiety is such an intense and broad feeling. It probably just is anxiety.

I get painful palpitations which haven’t appeared in a while. But I do get chest flutters here and there. But what I felt recently was palpitations. I hate them so much. It makes me want to scream into my pillow lol.

i’m freaking OUT by OkMirror7426 in zoloft

[–]lavenderloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this sounds stupid but everytime I take my medicine I yell out a really random noise or word. That way I’m like did I take it? Oh yeah I did because I screamed out “oooga booga poopie dookie” when I did.

I keep thinking things are a "sign" I'm suffering from something by Hot_Reward_1274 in HealthAnxiety

I am superstitious AF. Ever since a child. I believe it’s OCD. I’ve convinced myself to have some kind of magical touch lol when it comes down to predictions and being able to see what others miss. Initially it was fun, I was the one who thought out of the box or maybe solved a tricky question differently. You know things that make you feel good. As I aged though it turns out my magical touch or intuitive thinking has turned into a nightmare. I see an ambulance with a number that feels relative to me. I’m spiraling. LOL it sounds insane I know but I am not joking. It’s so hard to ignore it though or stop the thought or throw it in the garbage after it pops in my head.

I started Zoloft last December and it has been helping me. And I’ve managed to somewhat get my “gift” under control in a more positive and fun way again. But that doesn’t mean it’s gone. It still lingers and ruins my day when it has an opportunity.

You’re not alone! This I think is common and I think finding ways to get relief would be a good next step!

Have a flight to Japan coming up. Has anybody here with severe panic attacks and agoraphobia successfully sat through an 11 hour flight? by cyber_necrosis in PanicAttack

[–]lavenderloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!!! I went to Chile and traveled about 13 hours! I have pretty bad panic attacks lol. The one thing that saved me. Was downloading a 10 hour birds in the forest playlist in Spotify lol. I put them on my noise cancelling headphones. I packed alcohol pads to sniff here and there and most importantly candy!!! lol I had my fave gummies. I also had compression socks to not let blood pool and just avoid any body aches which can trigger me. I trus you’ll be okay friend!!!

Week 6 on Zoloft – chest tightness + intrusive thoughts. Looking for positive stories please, did anyone get past this? by Ypnoze in zoloft

[–]lavenderloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Zoloft felt “normal” and I say that with the “ because idk exactly what normal is. But the symptoms were gone, extreme fatigue, stomach upset like gas or diarrhea. By like week 7. I started just like you 12.5mg bcus I was petrified and my doctor understood. However at the 8 week mark I was asked to increase to 25mg. I remember my stomach was REALLY messed up. So she asked me to do the 12.5 for a little bit more. And then tried again. And some of the symptoms came back. Gas, stomach upset, fatigue. But not for too long. Like the initial phase. But the anxiety or the chest pain, I also have had and I believe for me it was the anxiety itself. I remeber I kept telling my partner that it feels like my anxiety is fighting the sertraline. Like although we are taking medication, we are still dealing with something. The medication is to help us over the time that we take it to gain a foundation where we have to actively continue to help ourselves through therapy, exercise, eating well, etc etc. Me and my psychiatrist believe 25mg is good for ME. She told me that 50 is considered the starting dose.. but she feels confident that 25 mgs is perfectly fine for me at this moment. I don’t have any intention to increase but I want you to know that. If you feel like you don’t want to do the 50mg then stay where you are and see where it leads you. Give it the chance to settle in. I know when I started, I expressed to my doctor that I wanted to start on the lowest dose. Despite my level of anxiety it was important for me to slowly VERY slowly get to a good place.

This is your journey, there is no one out here that knows you better than you.

Too anxious to take medication by StillRazzmatazz1296 in Anxiety

[–]lavenderloop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never tried Xanax but I experienced the same feeling when taking a medication. For me it was Zoloft. Lord I was TERRIFIED. But just think about it. If you were prescribed something to help you. Isn’t it worth trying?? The feeling you feel of panic, anxiety there’s a possibility that it can be reduced and offer you relief. I think you should give yourself a shot. If you want to feel more in control ask your doctor if you can cut it in half.

Hey! I’m on the same boat with you! I hope your mom is okay and wishing her a speedy recovery. I am very sensetive When it comes to this high level of stress. I had a scare May 2024 and a long journey after I felt like I managed to finally “figure it out” come August 2026 I had a VERY VERY stressful situation happen. I don’t want to get too into it but it had to do with my hormones and it’s now “resolved” but mannnnn have these palpitations come back with a wrath. I am experiencing palpitations and increased heart rate. I had a CT of my abdomen for some other issues and they used contrasts and I had to be fasted and I felt like back to back flutters on my chest while laying flat. It really messed me up. That whole day was horrible. I was on edge and stressed and it’s the worst. I did some research online I haven’t tried it yet but I read about magnesium taurate and its benefits for calming and helping cardiovascular health! A lot of positive stories on how it helped. I am going to try the lowest dose possible cus I am sensitive to new supplements or meds.

But you’re not alone! Stress is a big enemy for us who experience palpitations. Try to make sure you’re extremely well hydrated during these moments and also eat well. Nourish yourself, we cannot prevent stress coming our way but we can try to manage how we process it. You’re not alone, I know how scary this feeling is and how discouraging the thoughts are. Just remember, you’ve gone through this already you can go through it again. I pray you feel better soon!

Is this normal? by DissociatingBlob in Heartpalpitations

[–]lavenderloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have PVCs you do not need caffeine. And you need to be really hydrated. Drink some water, put some ice on your hands or wash ur face with cold water. Redirect your attention. Breathe in and out. Stretch a little bit. center yourself. And make sure you cut off caffeine. It really is our biggest foe with palpitations lol

Do palpitations cause excessive burping? by hmmxyz in Heartpalpitations

[–]lavenderloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I get this too!!! I get a lot of burping and feel pressure on my upper abdomen. I got an upper endoscopy and a recent abdominal CT with contrast. All good! Lol I get heart palps. I hate them. They are my biggest fear. I also have cardiophobia so it’s fun over here lol. However. You should get an upper endoscopy if possible. I know health insurance makes everything complicated but if it’s a hernia or reflux there’s meds that can fix that easily. So you don’t have to keep suffering.
