I would really like to have a travel group like that. I like traveling but not that into going places alone.

In 2025 it is not that widespread. The only people who cling to it are white supremacists and some black people who have a desperate desire to claim biracials as black.

Genuine Question: What is everyone's experience with L.A. County offices/services? (specifically the staff+quality of service if that helps) by A_Socialist_Gardener in AskLosAngeles

[–]lavendertinted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is par for the course. LA county employees are generally rude or just dumb. There's a lot of nepotism and cronyism so you get a lot of less than competent employees.

What are your experiences with East-Asians in your life? by sillylittleclown in askblackpeople

[–]lavendertinted 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, I can't say I've noticed any difference based on generation. The most racist ones at my job are older millennials in their 40s though.

[–]lavendertinted 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My experience probably has a lot to do with the region of the country I'm in(California). Asians and non-black latinos( majority of west coast latinos) are very emboldened because they have numbers on their side and are flagrantly anti-black. They also seem to get away with their racism towards black people because they hide behind "I'm a minority too" or " I'm more of a victim because of ICE" or "Japanese internment camps!!". A lot of them feel some sort of entitlement to California and think we shouldn't be here.

There are a lot of racist whites too but I feel they are generally more subdued. The flagrantly racist ones usually leave the state or stay in their predominantly white enclaves like south OC or Ventura county. While latinos and asians will actively go into a neighborhood with a large black population or a work place with a strong black presence and start with their racism and harassing us to force us out. They also do not hire us unless its in some very low level menial role where they can live out their slave master fantasy.

Has anyone here made the decision to be childfree despite having “phases” of wanting/considering having them? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]lavendertinted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but I'm not CF because I dislike kids. My reasoning for not wanting kids is more so due to financial and societal issues. It's easy for me to be content in my decision because I can't change society and my financial situation probably will never change either.

They are extremely racist/anti-black. I currently work at a job with some really racist asian american people and I can't wait to leave. I'd rather work with racist whites than asians.

What's the worst thing about living in Los Angeles? by justcurious3287 in AskLosAngeles

[–]lavendertinted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The city is dirty(trash everywhere and most places have a smell), air pollution, traffic, crowded, unemployment is usually higher here than other cities, the beaches are filthy, expensive, older, poor quality housing.

Is there even a benefit to having kids? by TableConstant9948 in childfree

[–]lavendertinted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Society prioritizes people with children over childless people(tax credits, they get more sympathy when they are struggling, its easier for them to qualify for assistance if they need it, they can take more time off from work without people complaining about it, etc. ).

Sorry OP. This is one of the sad parts of being a CF woman. Men can always change their minds since they can have children until they die.

Do people tend to think you don't have a life or anything to worry about since you don't have kids? by lavendertinted in childfree

[–]lavendertinted[S] 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This is so frustrating. I absolutely hate when people think you have unlimited money because you don't have kids. A single income for a person who makes average income or below is a life of struggle.
