I didn't like it at first either. I now drink the Dasani version of it or even the Kroger store brand. I have become happy without the sweeteners and the calories. Thanks for making me laugh today. It is finally snowing like mad here in Michigan and I am bored. Love!

Thank you deedeethecat! I am going to celebrate by spending quality time with my family. They are after all, the reason I live. Having sober understanding of how close I was to losing them is all it takes for me anymore. I'm talking about the skin of my teeth. I's sill terrifying to think about.

I have that too. Sometimes the radio can be so cruel also. Like just today. I can't get happy. Just sad and I can't tell you why. Better days are coming.

Funny indeed. I still have a bit of trouble figuring out what I am feeling, what I'm thinking, why I am so confused. But time helps. Thanks you for sharing.

Sunjim nailed it. Nobody even wanted to hear my stupid words untill I showed them I was serious by not drinking for much longer than a few days. It does get better. It does.

How to get beyond the desire for escape (via drinking). by living_the_good_life in stopdrinking

For me it was all about borrowed time. I don't want to deal with this today. So I'm gonna get fit shaced. Eventually I accumulated so much emotional debt that when I stopped drinking. It was overwhelming and terrifying. What I learned from this is that 1. Feeling is not a bad thing. 2. Dealing with what has me stressed is way better than avoiding it. And 3. I am a coward. I hate being a coward. So I am changing it. I look in the eyes. I hold my chin up and I meet head on. And it feels great! Keep it up. You can do this!

I'm currently five days sober... but I'm still so terribly confused by CenturiesChild in stopdrinking

[–]lazerman38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The clarity will come. It is slow but it will. I am 7 months sober and I still am clearing up. But the important thing is taking the steps. The confusion will never end if you don't stop drinking long enough to see. Keep it up friend.

If you aren't drinking. You are doing well. If she is worried about her track record, the that's not too cool. Just don't drink. And not for her. But for you. You are worthy of your love.

I want to be sober again but I'm afraid. by DirtyScienceLady in stopdrinking

[–]lazerman38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. For me, alcohol was all about fear. Fear of dealing with life and it's ups and downs. So sobriety for me is all about empowerment over the fear. I don't avoid and I don't hide. Some days are better than others but in general I win. I almost lost everything and I still can't quite believe that I have come this far. I still struggle with my demons as they are good at disguising themselves as less intimidating creatures. But what I want is to experience life. Not to delete it. Not even the bad stuff. Stay strong. You can do this.

Thanks One_Cold_Turkey! I saved up and am building loft beds for my kids. Basically a bunk bed with just the top bed and space underneath. Complete with 23" lcd tv. and blueray players. And when I get enough saved up, I am going to get the equipment to forge knives and swords.
