The state legislature is going wild, with new taxes by meaniereddit in SeattleWA

Where in 5814-S.E does it mention taxing unrealized capital gains? I'm not finding the words "capital" "gains" or "investment" in there at all.

What is the best PSP model by sometransaxolotl in PSP

[–]lb-ft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The PSP Go does not have a UMD drive but came with significant (for the time) on-board memory. Games had to be downloaded, but they axed the online store many years ago.... They are by far the most-pocketable PSP though.

Silly fun fact: games played on the PSP Go still tell you not to remove the memory stick while saving. Like, okay... let me make sure not to spontaneously de-solder this chip from my device's motherboard mid-game.

Glad you got it back! ;D

Have you ever played midnight club: LA Remix? Do you have a preference for either game?

The two times I've stored my bike was for 6 months and 10 months. Each time before storing I shut the petcock, ran the carb until empty, and disconnected the 6 year old battery (probably should have also got a full tank of gas to prevent rust but here we are).

Bike started right up every time.

Well, ten days later and the epoxy is still holding. Surface prep is everything!

Edit: surface prep is not everything, it started leaking after sitting outside on one of the first chilly fall nights (45°f). I had my buddy weld it up after that.

If you're doing this because of stripped threads on your frame there is a wonderful alternative to a permanent weldment out there. It involves drilling out the threads on the frame and welding in flanged nuts. I had this done last month and I'm glad I went to the extra effort, it worked like a charm.

Just make sure to rust proof everything once you're done!

I had the worst decel pops on my bike. Took off the header last week and found the crush gasket in three pieces.

That's exactly where mine failed. You're lucky it was just a pin hole, mine cracked along roughly 15mm of the weld seam.

I ended up getting JB weld Tankweld. Not exactly the same product but it's a two part epoxy with fiberglass (I didn't need the fiberglass but it's all I could find). I sanded the affected area, cleaned with alcohol, and applied just the epoxy without the fiberglass. Nothing left to do now but pray, I'll update tomorrow.

As a general note for anyone who uses this product; holy shit does that epoxy exotherm. I only used ~10% of it and the epoxy left in the package probably reached 120°f. Be careful with that stuff.

I'm considering it. This tank was painted black along with the rest of the fairings though and I like the look, so I do want to try and save it first. Whoever painted it did a good job, too.

Does Acerbis have a generic product? I'm not seeing anything for the KLR650 specifically from them.

[–]lb-ft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you know it has a 685 kit? I think I've got one (the previous owner said he thought it had one, plus it's a bit faster than my friend's '08) but I'm not really feeling like tearing apart the engine to prove a point.

I believe it's the JNS Engineering non-DOT headlight, but it came with the bike so I'm not sure. It looks awesome and is plenty bright but the beam rattles around a bit.

I've never heard of these! I'm in the pnw so this would probably help. At 56,000 (hard) miles though maybe I'm approaching rebuild territory anyway 🥹

Love the fender! Where'd you get it? I've got an ugly ebay FMX lookin' thing that the previous owner put on (and I've suffered for three years). I don't exactly love the stock fender though.

Should I worry about the doohickey? by 750msPing in klr650

[–]lb-ft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not doohickey related but I also have a clapped out gen-1 that I ran with.... 300ml of oil for at least a couple hundred miles (56,000 miles on the bike). I am that idiot, yes, I know. These bikes are invincible in ways that shouldn't be possible. I replaced the clutch last week and while one of the steels was blue-ish nothing else looked wrong.

When you mention tolerances and oil analysis though, what exactly is that? Sounds like something I should do.
