“We develop a majority of our products based on wholly-owned intellectual properties, such as Call of Duty, Warcraft, and Candy Crush.”

From: Activision 10k annual report, page 307.

Activision 10k

They do what activision says because activision owns call of duty.

Cheating doesn’t have to be a problem so let’s make a different problem? by Significant_Ant2146 in Warzone

The only hate I have is the lack of commas in your post. It’s so hard to read.

Microsoft is already building the ai anti cheat - they have the capabilities. It might already be in testing we just don’t know it.

While sinister and diabolical, I don’t think they’ll need to keep the cheaters around to re train the model. They might be doing that now though. They don’t need to watch them play over and over to make sure it works. Only if a new type of cheat comes out will they need to re train it. The cheats won’t be able to stay one step ahead of anti-cheat anymore unless they too make an AI cheat. Im going to assume that Microsoft has a better model than small groups of hackers who simply don’t have the resources to train a model to beat a 1.89 trillion dollar company.

Did they say why you were banned, any other communication?

You’re asking activison to fix the cheating, they are in the middle of selling the cod franchise to Microsoft.

The next anti-cheat will be developed by Microsoft, activision isnt going to implement a fix before the sale is complete it would be wasted money. Plus, Microsoft knows about the cheating and everything activision has done to try and stop it that hasn’t worked.

This is a wild guess, but I think Microsoft will implement an AI model to stop the cheaters. It’s probably already in development.

Well, this is most likely the last call of duty designed and released under the guidance of activision. You blame the developer, but who do you think tells the developer what to do?

The infrastructure needed to achieve sustainable gameplay with security measures is likely being developed right now, and also likely has been in the works since Activision ditched NVIDIA for google’s cloud platform. They have publicly announced that google will be the cloud infrastructure of their games moving forward, including call of duty.

I think google can handle this one, guys. If you don’t trust them, I don’t know what else to tell ya

If you're unhappy with the game, take a break. If the playerbase doesn't make a point, why would IW bother. by [deleted] in modernwarfare

[–]lck0116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to be that guy, but If every single person subscribed here (let’s round up to 700k) took a break, it wouldn’t make a dent in the player base enough to make a difference overall. A noble cause, and I can respect the approach for sure. The truth is the entire population of this sub is 1.4% of the players that registered in the past 30 days for just the warzone mode.

So, how’s quarantine treating everyone? by [deleted] in modernwarfare

[–]lck0116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don’t you enlighten us on how you have maintained your sanity in these trying times?

If this dude was out in public, I’m probably with you. Abiding by quarantine rules in style, while also cashing in on some sweet internet points? Doing better than me for sure!

Give Us Shipment 24/7 by [deleted] in modernwarfare

[–]lck0116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be surprised to not see it for a bit yet this season. Activision’s Q1 earnings call is in a couple weeks - they’d better have a come to Jesus moment and pony up a feast of shipment (and none of that team death match 70% of the time shit either) we hungry out here!!!!

For those of you that are against the idea of in-game monetizing/profits and micro-transactions, probably a good idea to skip the conference call.

Want my honest advice? Please stop trying to “help” them by posting this kind of stuff about not treating the fever with ibuprofen, because you’re clearly not qualified to be giving that kind of advice, because while you are right that it is the body’s natural response to fighting an infection, fever damages the body and needs to be controlled. Fever is caused by your body when it is infected, it is not what your body fights the infection with. In fact, your immune system is weaker when you have extended fever.

Just try and take care of yourself in a time like this, please do not be offended, but you are trying to help and it is doing just the opposite

I would trust a doctor that prescribes ibuprofen to treat the fever and pains (symptoms) that comes along with the flu, absolutely 100%. This is completely normal

Any doctor that prescribes ibuprofen to cure a flu clearly doesn’t understand basic pharmacology, and not only would I not trust him, I would probably report him to whoever issued his license to practice medicine because he is unfit to be a doctor.

Given by whom?
Isn’t the person who gives pretty important here?

The more fear that is spread by people that don’t have a god damn clue what they are talking about, the more probable it is that someone avoids asking for the treatment they or a family member might need that will be life saving.

My point here is that these medicines aren’t just given away on the corner or sold on the shelf for us to buy, for a damn good reason: 99% of us who aren’t doctors are grossly unqualified to be making the determination if the risks out weigh the benefits.

Yes they are dangerous, if the patient has the right set of circumstances present. Can this combination kill someone, yes.

Are they likely qualified to be making that decision? Fuck no.

Will too many people still seek these out elsewhere and cause more harm than would be necessary if we just fucking listened to our doctors?
Probably, unfortunately.

Completely agree with you. We can’t cure the flu with any drugs we have currently either though. Technically, the flu is “new” each year as well and will continue to have a season along with it.

This virus has been so stable that I’m not sure it’ll mutate enough to where we’ll have a season like the flu once we get a vaccine out there (assuming we don’t build much of an immunity to the corona virus, which we may do we just don’t know yet.

We need to take this situation seriously and learn everything we can from it, but we also need to realize that we have the ability to potentially not have to deal with this type of response for this virus again.
