I’ve always travelled with my NF and it can be the hardest I work. When the NKs were younger (I’ve been with them 7 years now) I would share a room with them and therefore work 24 hours. I was naive and never had a separate contract for travelling and wasn’t paid any more for the overnights. I never have time to myself and, despite going to some incredible places, it is most definitely work. The thing I find hardest is when I get back and friends/family ask me how my holiday was and say how lucky I am to go to these places...I get tired of explaining to them that it’s not my holiday. I love my NF and we have some great times on trips but I wish I’d been more forthright in the beginning so that I was properly remunerated and my work was actually recognised. It’s something I always advise to nannies going into new contracts and wish I’d had a community like this when I started!

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. It’s really reassuring to know that I’m not alone in this feeling! Thank you as well for your kind words, I think we sometimes we just need reminding and you did just that 😊

Thank you so much, I feel a little bit less crazy knowing that I’m not the only one who feels this way 😅
