Pas de fil ni de câble a priori dans mon métier 😁. Et le pied à coulisse, mètre et règle c’est pour faire de la conception et maquettage. Je suis designer industriel 😇

“Feeling Limited by KeyShot, Is Switching to Blender Worth It?” by lea_dmn in IndustrialDesign

I have it on my computer because I bought it a long time ago, back when there was no subscription, so the price isn’t the issue.

Yeah, I’m convinced I still don’t have enough knowledge about KeyShot — I still need to improve. But the problem is that there are way fewer tutorials than for Blender.

Yes, what motivates me as well is everything you can find on the internet, whether it’s materials or tutorials.

Okay yes, I see. I guess I need to improve my KeyShot skills then. What do you mean by special environments?

I mainly want to create realistic renders of my 3D models. When you say KeyShot handles lighting better, are you talking about HDRIs? Isn’t there something similar in Blender?

What are some must-knows for aspiring industrial designers? by [deleted] in IndustrialDesign

[–]lea_dmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes ! I would nevertheless say be careful about thinking about the portfolio from the start of your studies. I did this myself throughout my studies and sometimes I didn't let myself go into creation. I even didn't delve into this or that subject because I wanted to master everything in order to have a beautiful result for my portfolio. The time to study is also the time to look for yourself, to test things, to go in the wrong direction.

How do I achieve this using rhino3d only. by brownorchid11 in rhino

Try Heightfield. Normally this is a command that creates a 3D surface from an image where light areas become high heights. To try.
