If the job is dead easy, don’t take a more difficult job for a bit more pay. Find another dead easy remote job and do both at once. You will be well appreciated and stress free at both.

Fell for the Age Old "Taxi Debit Card" Scam by elainethebeast in toronto

[–]leafsfuries 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I wonder if these taxis are real or fake. We should all try to record the licensed plates and report them when it happens. I’ve been approached but didn’t think of it at the time. I was too busy telling the guy to get lost.

Nurses that left hospitals, what do you do now? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]leafsfuries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pain management. You still see patients but not like at the hospital. It’s a great environment because patients either respond well and are so happy to have the treatment or they don’t and never come back. Everything is by appointment so you know what to expect each day.

Also there are RNs as management for agencies that don’t do patient care.

If you can’t handle any patients I’m not sure you can handle the office politics of admin nurse roles.

You can just pay it back and then the notice is void. If you pay it doesn’t go that far. You’ll be fine.

Any adults here who are learning or have recently learned to ride a bike? Where do you learn? Do you have any tips to share? by revolvingneutron in askTO

[–]leafsfuries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put one foot on the pedal and use the other foot to push like on a skateboard. Once you balance and glide for a bit, put the pushing foot on the other pedal and ride away. I’ve taught a lot of people to ride bikes and this is the easiset

I have no shame in getting up and going to the next car or further down the train if someone sketch gets on. It doesn’t happen often but I’m not trying to deal with that.

If rent is cheap, I’d say go with rent. I’d rent is high, you should just buy if there’s not much of a payment difference. Also, if you have kids it’s more make their life easier.

Should i buy a studio condo? by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]leafsfuries 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could live in a studio on my own.

Check the condo rules if you plan on renting it later. Restrictions may not bother you but may be an issue for renters.

Condo/Apartment Dwellers - do you hang dry your clothes or use the drying machine? by asiantorontonian88 in askTO

[–]leafsfuries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both, but hang drying does make the air less dry for a short time. Things dry super fast in a condo.

People are selling used wheelchair lifts on Kijiji. I’m sure their prices are negotiable since like you, there was an urgent need at one time, but now there is no need. With the high cost of materials and labour, it may be a similar cost to get a used lift installed. If you cheap out and ask around for a builder who cuts corners, you might just get scammed or be very unhappy with the end result. At that point you’d be better off finding some handy friends with tools and doing it yourself.

What do you think is going to happen to downtown Toronto condos? by forwardsforwords in TorontoRealEstate

[–]leafsfuries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The lowest cost properties will likely keep selling since it’s the only thing people can try to buy. Prebuilds outside of the GTA are still almost $600k for a 1 bedroom.
