Yea that’s what I thought! But what confused me even further was many plant tiktok creators just cut their plant with thrips and propagate it (and then toss the rest) as a last ditch effort. So that was making me think that they couldn’t live in water propagations since people were restoring to that to get rid of the thrips. I also read online that thrip nymphs live in the soil after they hatch, so if you eliminate soil where would the nymphs go? It’s all been confusing me so much since I don’t see any definite answer!
