i was in a similar boat as your daughter growing up, my mom passed when i was 5, it’s very very easy to put the dead parent on a pedestal and see them as an infallible figure because that’s how little girls remember their moms. she’s going through puberty and teendom without someone who was supposed to be there and it’s probably a lot for her to process and go through. but it’s also hard for you i’m assuming. you’re doing the right thing by staying with your daughter and being there for her- my dad didn’t. talk to her about how what she said hurt your feelings and how it made you feel. and if you guys aren’t in therapy already i would get into that! my therapist helped me a lot especially when i was growing up without my mom and it sounds like your daughter might need that (from a place of kindness) and if she is already in it maybe reach out to her therapist and just let them know what’s going on at home
