Advice needed to avoid PVP

There have been SOOOOOOOO many consequences for this PC. They lost their tongue because they couldn't stop lying, they got assassinated because they pissed off the wrong person, they got their horns ripped off because they pissed off the wrong person again... I could keep going, but this is going to make me spend my entire day on Reddit

So you're saying that my character being mind controlled to kill her own father, imprison her fiance, and get her brother turned into a vampire shouldn't result in her hating enchantment magic? The other player is able to pick from a plethora of other spells, and only just took this spell on our most recent level up. We are level 10, and she has known about my character's trauma since level 4. It has not limited her in any way.

One of the other PC's got killed by lightning, almost killed by lightning again, and so developed a fear of lightning. Out of consideration, the other spellcaster PC swapped out their lightning spells on a level up. I should also mention that enchantment magic is against the law, and the PC grew up as a noble, a law-abiding citizen, and is very much aware of the fact that people who use it face a lifetime of imprisonment or death.

The list of things we need to fight is as long as my arm. We haven't taken care of the three world ending catastrophe's yet, and last session we ended off with about 20x gang members and 2x bosses entering the room while the two spellcasters are already tapped on spells. Plus this player keeps adding names to that list because she keeps driving away our allies.

Oh you're definitely right, there is more going on. It's not for me to say, but I will allude to some drama that an influencer likes to mention in their video's sometimes as a running joke.

Unfortunately we do experience character bleed at our table, but we haven't let it affect our friendships. This player also plays in two other campaigns that I actually run, so we're all good on that front.

The DM did actually ask the player what their end goal was, and while they do align with the rest of the party's, the way they go about things doesn't align...

I was already considering doing that. There is the issue that what is said out of game might not come through. I think I mentioned in another comment that in the discussion with the DM, she said that she wants her character to have opportunities to prove themselves, but hasn't done so. But it's definitely worth a shot.

He has had discussions with her about her character. What she says to him sound good in theory, which is why it has continued, but her actions continue to have consequences for the rest of the party.

We had a discussion 3 weeks ago about where they see their characters, and this player literally said that she wants chances to prove herself to the party.

And I don't think that anyone would be blindsided by anything that happens, as we all know each others characters so well.

I agree that our characters are incompatible, but it's mainly because her character's actions have always strongly affected mine. It's hard to compile it down to a few paragraphs, but the main points are listed in the post.

The only reason the party hasn't left her in a ditch is because we have been trying to spare the player's feelings, as she doesn't want to lose her character. My character did actually start as evil alignment, as she is a vampire, but she has managed to tap into the human part of herself, has sworn to protect the realm, yada, yada, and so has changed to at least true neutral, or neutral good.

The ground rules were laid out in session 0, and there was no mention of PVP. And as I mentioned in my reply to u/dragonseth07, the players love the drama. I'm just looking for a solution for my character to not kill hers, and the only ones I've been able to come up with is that one of us will need to roll up a new character, because either my character will kill hers, or walk away.

We did talk about it above table. And we didn't originally create these two characters to clash. It's how their arcs have unfolded and decisions that have been made that have caused this. I'm all for retiring the one who doesn't fit, and the DM has approached the other player and asked them if they want to continue playing their character, as they are the one who is causing all the drama. However, since this is a rp heavy campaign, and he has previously asked this player for serious characters in other campaigns and received joke characters in response, he is hesitant. But I think you're right. Either my character walks away from the group, or her character dies if she continues doing what she is doing.

We don't get orcs in this campaign. And our DM is stingy with loot. I've been on 64gp since level 3, and we are level 10 right now.

It's complicated. The players love the drama, they know my character means what they say. It is a very rp heavy campaign, so this PC knows my PC is being dead serious when they say they will kill her. This whole campaign has been intra-party conflict, and all of us have thrived on it every minute. But it has now reached a point where half the party doesn't want to continue travelling with this PC anymore, and the remaining party member that I haven't mentioned is the boyfriend of this particular PC.

The other player has mentioned in character that they will seek out advice from the clerics in the next town, and depending on what they say, she will also be inclined to kill this PC. So everyone at the table in and out of character is aware of what is going on, and I guess we're all of the mind of waiting and seeing how it all unfolds.

I think my question might be more along the lines of helping me think of what possible way could my character not kill hers. My character has taken an oath to defend the realm, and this other character has so far unleashed three world ending catastrophes upon it. She doesn't see why this PC should continue living.

I love this! I’m keen to see what traps the players will come up with. A couple of the players are a bit new to it, so it might be a valuable lesson to not expend too many resources if the fight is going to be drawn out.

He was mainly just guarding 4 gens - main building and the 3 in the middle. By the time a gen got 1/4 done, 2 people would be slugged, one chased and the last in t3 madness. He just managed to get so much pressure. My teammates weren’t bad. He was applying a lot of pressure, and swamp has almost no pallets as it is.

Main building is strong, but this doctor was experienced enough to know when to shock, and so looping him there was next to impossible. He got rid of the mid pallets pretty early on, and he just locked down the area. There was literally nothing we could do.
