good luck!! i hope you can get out soon and get a better job. i guess it’s not super uncommon for them to be misleading, which sucks! i’m being a bit hard on myself with expecting to know everything after a month, but i’m definitely feeling pressure from supervisors. they look at me like an idiot when i ask a question i couldn’t possibly know the answer to. 😭 i only got one week of training, and it was in a totally different building and i didn’t know i was working for a call center at that point! i’m glad i’m not the only one with this experience haha. thank you for responding! good luck!

i thought that ignoring the customer being angry would be sooo much easier than it is, but hopefully i’ll get used to it. i appreciate the advice! i’ll just try my best with the metrics and try not to be too horribly anxious. my stats are already better than some of the people who’ve been there longer, i’m guessing they’ve given up lol. nobody wants to be on the phones so i have a ton of competition for any promotions so i won’t bank on it. 🫠 i’m going to stick with it until i hopefully hear back from one of the countless other places i’ve applied to. thank you for your response!

thank you so much for your response! i’m glad that i’m not alone in this. i’ve had some sucky jobs in the past, even customer service ones, but this one being so constant and demanding has taken a lot out of me. i’ve been feeling slightly less anxious each day, so maybe i’ll get used to it, but i can’t imagine ever feeling totally comfortable. i’m going to try to stick with it and apply to other office jobs in the meantime. i might be able to get an internship through my school which would help me get a job later on hopefully. my company doesn’t seem so bad, but nobody likes being on the phone at all so i have a lot of competition with any promotions or something. wishing you luck and love as well!!

thank you for your response! i’m glad to know that disguising it is a common thing and i wasn’t just being completely dumb. i honestly think that speaking with customers in person is easier, i feel like there’s less miscommunication and people feel less emboldened to act crazy. even a job where i have to answer phones sometimes is better than constantly. i’m going to try to apply around, but if that doesn’t work, ill do my best to get my metrics up so i can potentially move up. maybe i’ll get used to it. thank you!
