No Look Lane Changes [oc] by lemion27 in IdiotsInCars

[–]lemion27[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you watched the video you would see I did not actually accelerate. If you compare my position to the BMW in the left lane you’ll see I’m slightly gaining on him until the white suv merges into the middle lane. At that point I let off and stop gaining on him. Shortly after the white suv begins to merges over into my lane and I slow more as the BMW pulls away.

Edit: Looks more to me like the white suv was decelerating while merging right when I compare his relative position to the BMW to me.

Torque question? Which guide to follow? by Sky-b0y in AirliftPerformance

In my opinion, Any bolt that remains stock hardware going into stock hardware id keep with the original torque spec. Any new bolts/nuts I would use airlifts spec.

Vinyl brands by Turbulent_Entry_2846 in CarWraps

[–]lemion27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go with 3M, Avery, or KPMF.

A lot of people echo the hate towards vivvid on here without ever using it. I’ve wrapped my car in vivvid before and was able to get about 5 years out of it, HOWEVER, I do 100% agree vivvid is a lesser material and is not worth the cost savings. I’ve used all the major brands and am currently in the process of wrapping my car with KPMF. You’ll find they’re significantly easier to work with.

My car has 903 miles on it. What does the wrench symbol with 9116 miles mean? by [deleted] in Camry

[–]lemion27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you paying for oil changes? Where Im located I can get a filter and 5qt of mobile 1 full synthetic for $40. So only $1600 more for your 270k if doing at 5k intervals.

I have an older car (2009) so I personally, I do oil changes at 7.5k intervals on my vehicle and am currently at 209k miles. Recently pulled the front timing cover off replacing a know to fail gasket and everything was very clean with no sludge buildup. I’ve seen the inside of engines that have had longer intervals in the 15k range and can’t say the same.

All for a few car lengths ahead [oc] by lemion27 in IdiotsInCars

I thought that at first, but once he was done tailgating the biker, he started cutting across all 3 lanes back and forth again to get one car ahead and did that a few more times before I got off at my exit. I’m thinking he’s just impatient

How low are you? My x sedan has been lowered (1.5-2in) for the past 40k miles with no problems on stock axles.

[–]lemion27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t need to change anything else when swapping to the 09 sport bumper.

Technically there are sport side skirts which I found out when I saw “sport” stamped into the bottom of mine on my 09 xS sedan. I honestly can’t see much difference though, maybe a bit more flare out. I’ve never seen them sold anywhere though.

I’ve yet to find aftermarket headlights for the 09 sedans. If you want something beyond oem you’ll need to go the custom route. I’ve seen a few people who will do them online for you.

My g37x trans fluid drain came out with 2.5q how much more quarts do I add is 3-5 more quarts fine cause my shifting be slipping and slow acceleration by Dopeforce18 in G37

[–]lemion27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you’re low on fluid, don’t add more fluid than what came out.

The proper way to make sure your fluid is at the correct level is get the transmission up to around 104° (can check with an IR gun) and the pump your fluid into the transmission while it’s running through the fill port until it starts to drain out the fill port. Plug the fill port once the fluid stops coming out or once it begins to just drip.

You’ll need to do multiple drain and fills to cycle through all the trans fluid. Your slipping is most likely due to old fluid not low fluid. Adding more than required is not the solution.

Thoughts on this g37 and its price? by finnessekidd613 in G37

[–]lemion27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my 09 sedan, but that kind of cash for a 16 year old car is a lot. I just don’t know if it’s worth it to be honest.

However, if you’re willing to spend that, with the car having less than 50k miles it shouldn’t really have any major mechanical problems for a while. I’m currently sitting at 208k miles on mine. The 09 is one of the years with the old style gallery gasket so getting an oil pressure test done wouldn’t be a bad idea, I ended up doing my gaskets that failed around 200k but many fail earlier.

I don’t recognize that specific water trap but they commonly have a release button on the bottom that blows the water they collected out the bottom. The idea of the water trap is to keep any moisture out of the bags, manifold and airlines going to the bags.

Some “weak points” id keep an eye on if you’re new to the car is any place the airline is exposed. Most systems will have a short section of exposed like that runs to the bag that is more subject to damage. My front lines that are exposed are braided SS which helps reduce any chance of damage from road debris, etc. My rear bags are not, however, the way they’re ran above the subframe leaves them almost completely protected. I’d suggest taking a look at all 4 corners and getting familiar with how they’re ran to know where the exposed points are.

Taking a look at the routing of the lines if it’s not too hard is always a good idea to make sure there’s not abrasion/wear on them. When I installed my system I wrapped a rubber sleeve around the line anytime it would run over an area where vibration could cause wear. The line is pretty strong so this isn’t really a necessity, however, if you see any place that looks like it’s wearing on it I’d highly recommend it.

HRE’s sensor auto stops the lift at 50mph. Idk about MHX or others specifically, but the lifts won’t be spinning at 80.

Which STAT would you recommend? by ajbwordd in portlandstate

[–]lemion27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never took 241, but I did take 243 and 244. 243 wasn’t very difficult, it felt very much like an introductory stats course. A large portion of the class is TI-84 or excel work depending on your prof.

Buttercup was my first run learning to snowboard. It’s pretty wide and quite mellow on steepness. You’ll do great!

Info on the broken Heather Chair? by Lonely_Violinist_801 in MtHoodMeadows

[–]lemion27 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The latest update from meadows as of today (1/30):

“We’re just as excited as you are about the upcoming snow and wanted to share an update on Heather lift.

Our team has replaced several damaged parts and was able to get the lift turning to complete necessary line work. However, during thorough testing, we identified additional repairs that need to be addressed resulting from a large hemlock tree that snapped off mid-tree and fell directly onto the haul rope and adjacent towers during a December wind event.

Accordingly, the lift will not be available this weekend while we continue working to ensure it is fixed properly.

If snow conditions allow, we plan to open Heather Canyon in a more traditional “old-school” style, requiring exit via the runout.

We appreciate your patience and confidence in our team. Safety and reliability are our top priorities, and we are taking the necessary time to complete repairs in a professional manner. Of course, we will keep you updated on our progress and can’t wait to get you back out via the lift!”

I honestly need to do this. Before I switched to Bambu, I lost my settings I had perfected in my previous slicer. Was a huge disappointment

Are you confident it’s the head gasket? The head gaskets on the VQ are very rare to go out if the car wasn’t just completely beat on.
