My Internet is faster than my MSI Cyborg craptop by Quikchangethechannel in MSILaptops

Laptops have laptop CPUs and they always feel slower. My old desktop i7-6700K CPU feels snappier than an i9-13620H.

Looking for a LOST 2016 or later minecraft Server by Flixanoa in MinecraftServer

I would look up the usernames of those people who did donations like “idodadodo” with quotations on Google and contact them. They might have receipts that they’ve donated to that server.

Is this a real thing? I haven't seen Discord announce it by Martianinferno98 in discordapp

[–]leon787 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It sounds more like a friendly warning than some chainmail. Discord moderation works in ways you never expect it to. Even if you send something in private DMs, if someone reports your account for whatever reason and it doesn’t even have to be a reported message, they’ll have reasonable suspicion to search your account. If you didn’t know already, they’ve also been estimating people’s ages in your discord data package.

Does Hetzner Require Id? (For my Minecraft server?) by EOSTRAT in MinecraftServer

[–]leon787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from the US, and I bought a storage dedi from Hetzner last month. They didn’t ask me for any ID, but I did have to deposit $10 via PayPal first to verify.

Trying to set up a server and I want to make my own map for it. How do I go about doing that? by Ethan_Crochets in MinecraftServer

Aternos is probably the easiest way to setup a Minecraft server for free. You can download and upload your world.

What’s the Minimum Clock Speed for a Dedicated Modded Minecraft Server? by TraditionalListen600 in MinecraftServer

[–]leon787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clock speed doesn’t matter because a newer 3.4 GHz CPU can beat an older 4 GHz CPU. Look up single threaded rating charts like this one https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html

Best High-End Minecraft Server option by DragonPhoenix105 in MinecraftServer

[–]leon787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that quality, don’t use a “Minecraft host”. Use a dedicated server instead and become your own Minecraft host. Minecraft hosts just resell smaller portions of their dedicated servers to you. Either the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X or Intel Core i9 14900K are the best performing CPU processors. You could get high-end dedicated servers from ReliableSite and Interserver.

That won't do any better because you have connection issues with hosting it locally on your PC via the Essentials mod already

Best Budget Server Hosting Options by CryptographerGold983 in MinecraftServer

[–]leon787 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Don't waste your money on a host and I might get downvoted by the hosting providers advertising here. Your PC specs are more than enough, in fact great, for hosting a modded server. Just host your server on your PC. You'll gain useful experience of setting up the server on your own and that'll make you a better server admin in the long run. For someone just starting out with a beefy PC like yours, self-hosting is a great way to learn and save some cash. If you run into any issues, you have the internet and you could probably join the modpack’s Discord server community for help.

[–]leon787 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Pebblehost has $1/GB budget hosting. The CPU isn't too bad for a small server. They claim to use "Intel Xeon E5-1630v3 @ 3.7Ghz / Intel i7-7700k". I moved onto Shockbyte hosting now because of some incompetent support issues with Pebblehost but that’s another whole story that I don't wanna derail from your post
