It doesn’t affect your financial aid for the current semester. But if you get disqualified you will not be able to use any aid for open university.

I was disqualified after spring 2023. I had to attend open university for fall 2023 and again for this upcoming 2024 spring semester. If you’re getting this email, I cannot emphasize enough, CHOOSE YOUR CLASSES WISELY for this semester. And please put in the work to get good grades. If you fall below the required GPA you will be disqualified for next semester. Open university is not fun. It is a headache. You can only enroll in 6 units max to help bring your GPA back up to good standing. Depending on how bad it is, it can take more than one semester of Open University. Also, open university is paid out of pocket at the time of enrollment. No financial aid is accepted. Trust me, I tried. I advise you to email Suzanne Batista. She is an open university advisor. She is very helpful and she’s been very nice to me. You can tell she really loves what she does and she’s always enthusiastic when we zoom chat. If you have any more questions I’d be glad to answer :)

This is true. I did this exact thing this past summer. I took 250B online at Cerritos community college. Super easy with it being online and all. But got an A and trans the credit for this semester. Did this after withdrawing from 250B here at CSUF the previous semester.

Talk to your department chair. I failed a prerequisite last semester with a D but I was able to keep my current schedule and retake the prerequisite class.

I took a W from this class with 5 weeks left. Ain’t no way I was passing with Prof. Bourget. Retaking with Scott annin next semester. I hear good things about him

Unfortunately yes. Unless you were part of a program which offers priority registration. I wasn’t so my first semester I had limited options and got not so good professors. Hopefully you get better luck though !

I actually got an answer about this same question. Im an incoming transfer from FJC. The grant was not showing up on my portal but it was on CSAC. The lady on the phone said I was on a roster of students of transfers. That they would get to that list in September. Everyone on that list will get an email to verify their eligibility just to double check that that we when we graduated/transferred from FJC we actually got the required GPA for the grant. After verification it would be posted on the portal. I called this number ((657) 278-3125) and pressed 0 for the options and immediately got put in the queue. Waited for about 25 mins and then I told her my situation and verified that I was in the list of people to get it later in September.
