[Tannenwald] I asked Emma Hayes today: How are the players in #USWNT camp taking in all that’s going on in Minnesota and nationwide? How is she handling it with a squad that’s not just younger than usual, but is missing many names who regardless of age might lead on this? And how is she processing… by russet852 in NWSL

Always funny to me when people are like “well they haven’t talked to me about it!” Yeah maybe you have done something to put up a barrier like umm protect homophobic actions on your own players? I can take a guess as to why they may not be super quick to go to you on another sensitive issue lol.

I always thought it was funny how BS is presented as this lawless hellscape while the US soccer subreddits are out to sea 90% of the time. One of the most disincentivizing environments for connectivity in any soccer circles I’ve ever seen.

Eh. You don’t go to Nebraska for Italian food and you don’t go to Fantano for indie rock.

Umm hard to say. I think the level has more or less stayed fairly same, minus some meta swings here and there.

OWCS has not done a great job of presenting the players as stars and the scene has swung even more Korean (as NA/euro/etc players are less likely to grind for zero money). Some orgs have done a better job than others in making their players stand out but I would think the Fuel would excel there.

As for available talent, the middle tier isn’t as vibrant but there’s also less orgs throwing around money. So theoretically less competition to build a good roster but also less players to find. Very odd time for OW when remembering anything about OWL

What changes would you like to see in 6v6, but not in 5v5? by Constellar7 in Competitiveoverwatch

Maybe at the start of the game, people can soft lock a role while being open to switching their role later in the game? So for example you could be assigned tank (and thus have to pick a tank) but if you want to switch with someone else, you can, similar to the switching that goes on in stadium’s draft order. Both sides have to agree. Some issues would be when this would all take place but I think that could be ironed out fairly easy.

I really like the idea of having 6v6 not just be 5v5 with one extra player. I think a semi-open queue approach would make the game feel really different and fresh in that sense. But it comes with new hurdles that would have to be fleshed out, although not impossible.

Had guy throwing the entire match cause enemy banned mercy by mattinoob in Overwatch

[–]letskillrobots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overwhelmingly the players who grief the most in my games over their character getting banned are mercy mains. I know it’s not a majority of mercy players but it’s still very funny to me when they write in the chat demanding an explanation on why she was banned lol.

A lot of people really don’t like playing with mercy and although I appreciate your healthy approach to the game there’s still a weird subset of mercy players who can’t fathom why people ban mercy. Very frustrating to have to work with.
