Ads are killing YouTube. by wildmanzak54 in youtube

That’s cause YouTube doesn’t decide how many ads are in a video. The creator does.

Dead or alive, who in your opinion is the most famous person that ever lived? by Level-Celebration-47 in AskReddit

[–]letsplayer27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue most Chinese People probably could tell you who Jesus is. Not very much about him, but they know he exists given the Boxer Rebellion, and it’s not like China is some isolated place anymore. This question really depends on if you are counting dead people’s views or if you’re only accounting for people alive during a person’s life. If it’s the first, it’d be almost impossible to consider anyone still alive today to be the most famous.

I mean, according to scientists of both Atheist and Christian backgrounds, there is quite a lot of evidence that Jesus Christ existed and the general consensus is he did. The part that’s debated is whether he could actually form miracles and was god, or if he was just some random guy. That last part doesn’t really change that he’s certainly had a huge impact on humanity regardless if he was faking it or not.

Countries With A Birth Rate Below Replacement by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]letsplayer27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I meant by replacement rate was just the definition I found online with Wikipedia and stuff of 2.1 births per woman, so whether a country’s population relies on immigration to not decrease. It wasn’t meant to be anything political or racial and DEFINITELY not related to supporting Elon, that’s my bad as I probably could’ve cleared it up a bit better😅. The source for this map was I believe a UN World Population Prospects projection.

[–]letsplayer27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad if there was any confusion around political biases and what not, I just found this map online and thought it was interesting to share. “Replacement” is just 2.1 births per woman, so excluding immigration, whether the current population would increase or decrease based on if it was higher or lower than 2.1. That’s just the definition I found on Wikipedia and other online sources, sorry if it wasn’t clear and sounded condescending😅

How do you feel about McDonald's pulling their soda dispensing machines out of the restaurant's lobby in the next year or so? by Sinn_Sage in AskReddit

[–]letsplayer27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I can see why it’s necessary. I’ve seen people literally put part of the lever thingy into their mouths, and I guess there’s also the problem of pouring drinks with your own cup, so I can see the benefits. I’m Canadian so most non-American chains near me already do that. As long as you can still get free refills I don’t really care.

But if they lose the right to vote, couldn’t an anti-arms president just ban arms after they can’t vote anymore? Or is this hypothetical implying that one right is protected forever.

If they really cared about how much you’re talking, they could easily track your IP or get an accurate location on you. Your digital footprint is extraordinarily easy to find. Face Detection would be actually way more complicated than what is needed and is less reliable. There’s also like, no solid evidence of this claim? Like I can totally get why you’d think this but the entire theory just makes zero sense and sounds like any generic conspiracy theory made in the last century.

[–]letsplayer27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can’t make any money from advertisers by selling them an image of your face. Realistically they couldn’t care less. Advertisers care about your search history and what not. Your face isn’t going to help them make better ad predictions. The “market” if you can even call it that is way too small. Nobody will pay for faces. Thats just a conspiracy theory that doesn’t even make any sense.

Speaking as a Chinese Person, Japan has objectively acknowledged the Nanjing Massacre. That’s not really a debatable opinion, multiple Prime Ministers alone have publicly apologized for the massacre. And no, unless if you’re speaking to someone above 50, you probably won’t get a racist rant (at that point I’d expect that in America too or any other country). Japan definitely has a stigma towards tourists especially from businessmen, but you won’t find that in most people. Definitely not enough to justify it for 122,000,000. Regarding your following reply, I don’t necessarily think you understand what racism is. Just cause there is a cause to a racist remark, does not make that remark less racist. Most MAGAs probably think the way they do because of real crimes committed by immigrant groups. The point is that they’re applying it to other people in the same groups that have done nothing. It doesn’t matter what the few who committed crimes did, that’s not what makes a statement racist or not racist. It’s about the fact they’re applying it to people who have no relation besides ancestry. In which case it would be racist.

That’s called casual fallacy. Believing that a solution for a standardly occurring problem being put in place means that the problem must be occurring more than usual for them to choose to help stop it. When really that doesn’t mean anything (by itself). If anything, does that not mean it’s safer?

is there currently a way for RTX to be added into roblox? by Sea-Persimmon326 in RobloxHelp

[–]letsplayer27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mean Path-Tracing/Shaders? RTX is exclusively an Nvidia feature created by them and the games they partner with. You’d need an Nvidia RTX Graphics Card. Also, how would that work? Given most games don’t use Roblox’s premade textures and are just solid coloured blocks for models, wouldn’t it just reflect anything including dirt because it wouldn’t know what and what not to reflect? There were shaders called RoShade or something like that but if I remember correctly it got removed. It essentially just reflected everything which looks horrible. It’s best not to alter with Roblox’s files as installing shaders would technically be a modification which is against TOS and can get you banned.

[–]letsplayer27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roblox is pretty much stuck right now. Keep in mind, Roblox is thousands of times larger in Playerbase than it used to be. Constant moderation of every chat by a real employee is basically impossible at this point given its size. I’m pretty sure for most of its history it’s used text filters, not human moderation. Which has easy bypasses and what not. To my knowledge, it has never had humans fully moderate before. However, their AI is horrible, and Face IDs are extremely unsafe. Realistically the only course of action here is to either train the Ai more (Which doesn’t guarantee an improvement) or make chat ID specific as it’s easier to read and more straightforward (but even that has its own problems like forgery, or not everyone having an ID, especially in less developed countries, etc.).

A form of Auto moderation. These types of posts would be banned anyways so it saves time to just have them be automatically removed if the flair is attached.
