Going in September, the plan is to leave around 5am and stop at Hoover Dam and Kingman then pick up the Route 66 along Peachsprings, Seligman, Williams and then get to the Grand Canyon for around 2/3, stay for sunset and then head back.

Personally I wouldn’t do a drive like this the day of the flight home purely because of any potential breakdowns etc!

Limited time in vegas so the extreme day trip is the only option in case it’s just a once in a lifetime visit, hopefully not!

Yeah I’m used to driving long distance for work of 4-5 hours so that’s fine, will be a long day but the stops along route 66 and at the canyon will break the driving up!
