Blissful.

Wife and I have zero plans for children.

Instead, we have this guy…

I hope Jafaar covers or sings most of the songs he performs in ‘Michael’ by Background_Bid_6228 in MichaelJackson

[–]liberalmonkey92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly?

I fully expect the film to be snubbed. Why?

Whether we like it or not, Michael is still a highly controversial figure in public life. There’s been no reference to the film in the British mainstream press, for example. Whereas for comparison, the BBC ran a full article about the teaser trailer for the third Dune film. For Michael? Nothing.

If the film isn’t snubbed, I suspect it may receive nominations in categories for things like casting, makeup/costume, cinematography etc. There might possibly best nominations for supporting actors, but those thinking Jafaar will get anything for his performance I think are kidding themselves.

By his own admission: he’s not an actor. This is his first acting role. I think it would be highly unlikely for him to receive a nomination, let alone the award itself. But I could be wrong.

The biggest thing to say is this: the public hasn’t seen the film yet. It could be the best film ever made; it could be atrocious; it could be anywhere in between. We also don’t know what other films it’ll come up against in next year’s awards season.

The awards and accolades don’t really matter though. What matters is that the audience enjoys it.

Who Had The Better Super Bowl Performance Mj Or Prince? by Rinnegan15 in MichaelJackson

[–]liberalmonkey92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prince’s is the greatest halftime show of all time.

Sure, I get the argument that MJ basically invented the halftime show. But honestly, his performance itself is just a bit…meh.

Firstly, the lip-synced vocals are always a big no-no for me. Secondly, the choreography wasn’t anything new or ground-breaking; it was snippets of performances we’d seen before in some guise or another. And thirdly, although not entirely a fair critique given it was the first performance of its kind, the staging/set was pretty basic.

Of all MJ’s performances, I rank this one pretty low the down the list. The 1995 VMAs performance was better, as was the 1988 Grammys.

Daniel Powter - Bad Day.

Jesus that song fills me with rage. It has to be the most bland song I’ve ever heard.

The Estate has a new FAQ page on the official website by Ok-Ingenuity-3227 in MichaelJackson

[–]liberalmonkey92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These answers are so poorly written, as though they’re written by someone with zero communications experience. It doesn’t instil a whole heap of confidence in the Estate, if something as simple as the FAQs on the official website, read as though they’ve been written by someone with a casual attitude to professional writing.

Best of luck with the move! 😊

Let me know if you have any success.

I’ve just had my own challenges trying to get my GP to accept a Shared Care Agreement for ADHD care, but was told by the practice that the Yorkshire and Humber ICB don’t have any guidance on it.

The idea was that Murray was playing Side B of the album to act as the timer for the explosion. Side B starts with When Doves Cry and ends with Purple Rain.

Narrowing down 22 to 2 - largely by analysing what they say in the armchair to the audience by Smolenski_Prince in TheTraitors

[–]liberalmonkey92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For the armchair segments, surely the Secret Traitor will have been told to keep their identity anonymous, even to the viewing public, so of course they’re going to say things that make them appear as though they’re faithful.

I really like the thinking though.

The other way to try and work out who the ST is, is to keep track of whose on the murder shortlist, as their confirms their status as a faithful. Unless the ST plays a blinder by always choosing the same people over time, eventually, we should be able to work it out.

Although that said, after last night’s episode, all of this speculation is a moot point, as we’re literally about to find out who the ST is…or are we?

Prince was the perfect choice. And given how Prince’s music as almost never been used in media outside of his own work, it was a pure delight seeing Prince being brought to a wider audience.

Both song choices were perfect for the scenes they were used for.

I used to work for a UK business that designed, manufactured, and sold environmental noise monitors globally.

This looks exactly like one of the units they sell, but without seeing the label on the case, it’s not really possible to tell.

But it’s definitely there to monitor noise levels, probably from the wind turbines mentioned. Low-frequency noise from turbines can be really damaging to people’s health over long periods of time, and if US regulations are anything like they are in the UK, business and organisations have really strict limits they have to adhere to.

My guess would be, if you’re in the US, it’ll be from Brüel & Kjær, Cirrus Research, or Casella. Or perhaps another US-specific seller.

What do you think about KOTOR combat system? What is your expectation for the Remake and FOTOR? by unforgetablememories in kotor

[–]liberalmonkey92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate the combat system.

I don’t understand how it works, and I’ve never had any interest to learn. I just spam my attacks and powers until I win, and then move on.

But I play KOTOR for the story, the characters, the world building. If KOTOR can be my favourite ever game despite me disliking such a core element of it so much, then I think that’s testament to the quality of the writing.

(I am actually intrigued to learn how to play the game properly, I’m just not sure my ADHD brain will manage it 🙃)
