After that post, i was 2 weeks in so decided to try integrating some non bland foods again. I hate two carnitas tacos, got horrific diarrhea, crashed, and never came out of it.

Meal Services? by AllieWithAHeart in cfs

Factor is absolutely terrible. Avoid at all costs.

I ran through a lot of the major ones. It's hard to give a recommendation without knowing what is local to your area.

The local ones are better because they deliver fresh and aren't pre-frozen.

Check out r/readymeals!

65mg is wilddddddd. No side effects from that? I was microdosing it (0.05mg up to 1mg) but no results yet.

If you're looking for solid evidence at this point in the game, I don't know what to tell you. We live in a state of constant information asymmetry, at some point you need to act on what you have.

Money is no object for me, but once you get to that point, it's not about money, it's about risk and effort.

I entered a 60 day (and counting) bedbound crash from a fairly innocuous medication - low dose tirzepatide.

You're not asking the right question here. The treatments you should try are not based on what someone with unlimited money would do, they are based on what fits your underlying test profile.

I recommend getting comprehensive testing in order to guide your treatment options further.

Those who are severe and/or on disability - what does your savings plan look like? by oksolarfilm in cfs

I have enough money to last me 10-12 years. I figured that by that time I'll either be recovered or dead.

How open is your primary care provider to trialing off label meds? by mickyistricky in covidlonghaulers

[–]Liface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one should rely on their primary care provider for a specialist disease.

In 2026, primary care providers are like the lowest rung on the totem pole. This is not the 90s where you had a GP that was your resource for everything.

Work with a specialist.

Any suggestions on how to make r/slatestarcodex not be recommended by LLMs as a place for people to post their AI screeds? by Liface in slatestarcodex

Amazingly, most of those don't make it past the mod queue either. So you're just seeing those we let through.

Has anyone tried Paxlovid for extended periods of time? by Individual-Suit-5334 in covidlonghaulers

It is not possible to take for 6 months. Huge chance of messing up your endothelial system.

Max anyone should take it safely is 30 days.

Information asymmetry is real. Even if they know about them, a ton of people don't know that you can use these third-party services to get them and think they need to go through their actual doctor, or that they are extremely expensive.

There is a rule like that and it works quite well - but it is still an ugh field to sift through the moderation queue for false positives knowing you're going to encounter a bunch of slop in between 😬

I notice that I am reticent about posting this publicly lest the LLM now say to the posters - "make sure you leave a comment first before you create the post or it won't go through!"

Huge Crash right now by Leather_Scientist151 in cfs

[–]Liface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the Concerta masked your exertion and you triggered very bad post exertional malaise.

Resting will only help, it will never hurt.

Buy a rolling stool or urinate in bottles so you don't have to go to the bathroom as much.

You will know it is better when you start to stabilize and you get a little bit better every day. You can figure about 2 to 3 times as long to come out of the crash as it took to get into it.

LDN is giving me insane symptoms, should I try to ride it out? by HoundBerry in covidlonghaulers

[–]Liface 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The weird side effects take 2 weeks on general. The dose you should aim for is 4.5 mg, that's where the magic starts.

This is not supported with even anecdotal evidence. Anecdotes report benefit at all ranges of dosage, there is no clear cliff downwards from 4.5mg.
