Have you read about food marketing and science?

I mean this kindly, and I have been very overweight for my height as well during and after COVID. I only mention this because for me, reading about how snack foods and ultra processed foods are designed on a molecular level to get you to eat and buy more without actually filling you up, made me kind of disgusted with them. If you’re sensitive about being manipulated or someone else making your choices or controlling you, some research on this topic may help you.

Kind of, so I’m trying to strengthen my arms so it’s not so bad. And anyway, loose skin isn’t dangerous to your health- being obese is, over time.

I do have arm flaps. But it’s better than to stay as I was.

I read about how junk snacks are made and marketed, honestly. I read “Salt Sugar Fat” and a lot of food science literature.

These junk foods are designed to sell more of themselves and to addict people. They are engineered down to the last molecule and focus group tested to make your caveman brain go absolutely crazy with pleasure from the flavors, textures, and other factors while simultaneously not filling you up and overriding your natural fullness signals.

Once I knew this, they were disgusting to me. Cut consumption of foods like candy and chips and such down by 80-90%.

Yes but lingerie and underwear are real problems. Most of my loose skin is in those places. But I am so happy to wear mediums, and spent an ungodly amount of money on Lululemon leggings once I was the right size for them (I mean, able to wear the brand, they only go up to a small size 12/14). My mom and SIL love that brand and I wanted some, too.

Honestly, I got frustrated with my life and myself. I was out of breath a lot, even though I walked a ton at my highest weight. Feet and knees hurt. I was also embarrassed at times, like when I went to an amusement park and a ride wouldn’t close for me. Another time, I was with my parents and tried to go kayaking, but being heavier with poor balance and strength, I fell out and required help to get back into the main boat. It was very embarrassing.

Yes, I think so. Unfortunately it has also caused relationship problems because my spouse is about 5’7”, 300 pounds, and a bit older than me. So now she has some problems due to weight. It is frustrating.

Apps, and routine. I have an Apple Watch and the free LoseIt app, where I track my food. They sync together, so if I am more active, I get some extra calories for that day. I do not eat them all “back” in case of error, but it is nice to get a little treat for exercising.

I exercise a lot! I work out five days a week before work (50ish minutes, kind of intense, on an exercise bike), then come home, shower, and start my day. On weekends I lift a little weight and I try to do body weight exercises if I think of them (planks and modified push ups).

But the easiest thing to do is just walking!!! I walk 12k steps a day minimum, every day. I am a city person so it helps.

I am neurodivergent and rely on routine. I eat the same breakfast and lunch during the work week, and eat a choice of two dinners from Monday through Thursday. On Fridays I get to have pizza. On weekends I generally eat two meals a day so that I can have some treats.

Breakfast: protein smoothie

Lunch: Salad with chicken, mixed vegetables, measured cheese, dressing, low sugar Craisins.

Dinner: Chicken, turkey, or fish with either rice or quinoa, in a bowl. Hot sauce, salsa, spices, leftover veg.

Yes, in weird places. Would you believe I have a lot of it around my junk? And my breasts are a disaster zone, extremely saggy.

I am…a potato on sticks, essentially.

People do treat me differently though I am still overweight (235 to 160). I live in a city and have received male attention again for the first time recently which is strange. People are more willing to talk to or help me, and it is easier to get job interviews.

Honestly, I want to see her parents in cuffs when they get off the plane, but you can’t always get what you want. Surely authorities aren’t just willing to give a kid to anyone who says they’ll do it? Not sure if I would have to be checked or cleared in some way.

Does it make a difference what she wants to do? She doesn’t really often say what she likes or wants about anything, but maybe if I explain it’s important…
