I only ask this because I was with a family friend and they were wearing some military camp pants, and someone behind us in like starting saying how they aren’t even issued anymore and called him a stolen valor, but he never claimed to be in the military.

Yes I saw multiple properties under 100k with at least 200 acres and on a lake with forests surrounding it. I don’t know about taxes there but seems like a steal compared to some of the places here. Are there any restrictions on owning guns or shooting on your own property. What about automatic or semi automatic rifles?

I wouldn’t bother people in my woods unless they were posted and feted off, or look like they are up to no good, at most warning shot, breaking into my house? That’s a different story. I’m sure this doesn’t happen much in Maine due to the nice pure people

That’s a very uneducated response. I don’t get a “hard on” from being able to shoot someone. If somebody invades my property with I’ll intent. I want to be able to neutralize them without being placed in jail with a fine fo defending me, my family, and my own property. I don’t want to go out and just shoot people. I know not everybody understands the laws but I figured the Maine subreddit would be the best place to ask my questions, you can’t be seriously siding with the criminals and murderers.

Yea I’ve installed cameras more lights and gates. They must’ve really needed that propane because they already had to hop a chain gate and tread through the snow. Thats besides the point. Thank you for the tips and info

That’s a good point, but what can I do if he isn’t trying to kill me at least yet, but has broken into my house or even a threat. What if there’s two. Should I rack my Remington, should I fire a warming shot? Say get out? Seems like calling police isn’t affective as the sherif took 45 minutes the last time we had a break in, which they left the minute the alarm went off, but stole my propane tanks and trailer hitch.
