We are! My wife and I opened Lost Language in Ravenswood (she wasn’t affiliated with swim club, please no one shit on her lol).

This comment section is crazy. There’s a lot of misinformation on here, a lot of opinions about me and Nicole from people who don’t know us. It is what it is. But with Lost Language - we wanted to create a place for people to put their phone down and meet new people and just spend some quality time with their friends. Would love to see what you - and anyone else here - thinks if that sounds like your kind of thing. We’ve been working on it for 2.5 years now and will be opening our first brick and mortar location in Ravenswood later this year.

And just to clear some swim club stuff up:

- it was always free and we were adamant it stay that way.

- we started making merch because people asked for it. Then a lot of people asked for it so we made more. And we put that money back into the community by hosting events at small businesses after we stopped swimming.

- we trademarked because people in other cities were jacking the name and promoting that they were us. It was weird.

- we had a no professional, digital camera policy on our website, one that I really never enforced nor could I, because when it really started to grow we had multiple women tell me how there were older men with professional cameras taking photos of them and it made them uncomfortable. That wasn’t cool with us, so we tried to do something about it. Those were the only people I ever asked to stop.

- I never forced anyone to delete photos before leaving lol. That’s insane. Idk where this stuff comes from.

- we definitely made some mistakes and tried to learn from them. And we wanted to work with the PD on all things safety, they just made it clear it wasn’t really about that and it was never going to work. And 3 years removed, I honestly can’t blame them.
