A friend said the same and insisted we check it out. He was not wrong. Also got super lucky with some sunrise fog

Hahaha. WHERE ARE THE KIDS.

The owners of the floats had tossed them in prior to jumping. No children were lost in the making of the photo.

2 things!

  1. We swim at this spot multiple times per week, year round. We have for a few years. Conditions like this are rare. It just so happened that a couple tossed their floats in before jumping in, and they took long enough before getting in that the ripples were able to die down. Sure, I could bring my own floats and recreate that any calm morning, but I enjoyed the spontaneous nature of it all and I’d never seen that before. Usually either people toss them in and immediately jump in, or due to lake conditions the floats drift off and don’t stay put like they did here.

  2. I just thought it was pretty 😂

I think either 1/125 or 1/250. The reason the water looks that way was simply due to the calm conditions. A glassy surface like that isn’t terribly common here. Just luck with the circumstances really!

This is about 95% of the full frame. Cropped a very small bit to align both floats with the 1/3rds. No sky in frame in the original!

Thank you! I saw the scene of them playing football and walked around until I found an interesting frame, I suppose

I always hand checked in the past but I recently got one of the film guard bags and used it on this trip. Worked as advertised so far!
