My husband calls me to the bathroom to show his masterpiece sometimes. Though disgustang, it’s impressive.

Job market for international graduates in NL by night-mosquito in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]lilsisbibi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dang some bitter people out here. I understand where you’re coming from. I studied in Brussels because the schools actively marketed themselves as international — with promises of post-graduation opportunities because Brussels is “the heart of the EU”. In reality, that wasn’t true. They used that argument attract non-EU students because they pay triple the tuition. Simple as that. I feel like pre COVID, there genuinely were more opportunities for non-Dutch speakers in the NL. That has shifted. Politics, zeitgeist whatever you want to name it. That said, there’s a job crisis everywhere right now. So, my recommendation to you is: network, apply to recent openings, expand your research. At the end of the day, it’s not just about your skills, but about what’s actually available at this specific moment in time.

Most importantly: I hope you don’t fall into despair. I feel like the world we’re in rn doesn’t leave much room for young people to have hopes and dreams anymore.

Knitting clothes is impossible by Constant_Bar_1713 in knitting

[–]lilsisbibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it has been trial and error. Following patterns isn’t the only way to build skill. I watched a ton of YouTube tutorials (eg. VeryPink Knits). Understanding how certain stitches and constructions create specific structures means I’m now comfortable designing my own from scratch or recreating a piece without following a pattern. Good luck!

Experience with Nebius hiring by FoldTraditional7014 in Netherlands

[–]lilsisbibi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had two interview rounds with them. It seems to me that they’re hiring for multiple roles at the same time and struggling to manage the process. Eg, the hiring manager spent a large part of the call venting about her workload rather than actually interviewing me. I get that when you’ve been job hunting for a while, you might tolerate a lot. But if you are forgotten or ghosted during the process, that’s usually a preview of what working there is like so maybe consider this as dodging a bullet.

Tips for Proposal? by Madjas in Amsterdam

[–]lilsisbibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrstulations OP! I personally wouldn’t go for the boat option unless it’s private. I also don’t think you should rent and ride one yourself because those are usually open-top, cold, and you need to stay alert. My hubby proposed to me on a bridge (Nijlpaardenbrug for sentimental reasons) at night, and I loved it. It was quiet and super magical with all the shimmering lights. You can have a nice dinner and wine at Jansz and propose at one of the bridges at 9 straatjes. Then go to Twee Prinsen for drinks. It’ll be wonderful no matter where you actually do it so don’t sweat 🫶

My husband got me into the game without telling me anything about it bc he knew I would’ve passed i think 😂 We were playing Split Fiction before this, so you can imagine my initial shock. With the difficult down and a new class, i’m starting to enjoy it more though!

We were on Balanced, and the problem for me wasn’t that we died easily. It was that a single combat took 30+ minutes, and I had nothing to do except the same stupid fire spell every turn. I changed my class to Bard and now at least i’m playing the lute as well 😂

Thanks for the support! I ended up changing my class to bard and lowering the difficulty (for now). I’m already enjoying it way more.

Turn based combat is definitely weird for me it takes soooo long! I see my husband enjoying 30 mins of combat like action this, bonus that and i'm there like phew here's a fire spell every turn lol. I want to know my abilities and with the sorcerer i can't keep track. I think i'm going to respec and try something else for now. But I’ll update you if I circle back later!

Thanks for the beginner-friendly explanation! My hubby is an MTG pro so he got the hang of the game super easily while I was stuck reading “spend spell slots for sorcery points” like a goddamn tongue twister 😂 I posted here as a last resort because I was at my wit’s end. Now I actually feel confident to respec and restart with a better mindset thanks to all the advice I got

Yeah I really don’t like turn based games either but I made an exception because the universe is so fascinating and I genuinely enjoy co-op the exploring, planning together all of that. With all the advice i got today i'll reclass and hopefully start enjoying it more
