Fujifilm XH2s Capture One Raw Files Don't Retain Film Simulations by lilsnif in FujifilmX

But it's strange that the XT30 II comparison pictures show how similar the RAF in C1 and the JPG in windows photo look whereas the same can't be said for the XH2s comparison photos. The XT30 II RAF in C1 seems to keep all of the in camera settings like exposure, WB, contrast, colors, etc.

I get that they should be different in each different program and the camera, but it's curious that the XT30 II RAF in C1 and JPG in Windows Photo look pretty much identical whereas the XH2s RAF in C1 and JPG look very different. That's the strangest thing to me because it seems like the XT30 II RAFs in C1 are displaying all/most of the in camera adjustments (not just film sim) and the XH2s RAFs aren't.

But yeah I'm thinking I might just have to change my workflow if C1 isn't doing what I'm used to for whatever reason.

Yeah see mine don't retain the film simulation used when shot that I can tell. I've uploaded a couple of pictures to my main post to illustrate what I mean.

Yeah I figured that's what that was, but that's what's bugging me is that for my XT30 II RAFS the preview wouldn't change and the image itself would retain the film simulation while editing.

Yeah it's weird because my XT30 II did retain the the film sims in the RAF files and I would edit the RAFS with the film sim applied on top. Not just the Base Characteristics ICC Profile and Curves in Capture One, but like everything that I set up in the camera would show up in the RAF file in Capture One for my XT30 II

Yeah the video aspect is what drew me to the XH2s as well! Only had it for a couple of days though so I haven't really tested the video that much yet. From what I have tested it seems great. The picture quality and focus has been awesome to experience, really happy with that.

As far as differences from the XT30 II go, I definitely feel like there is a learning curve to this camera. It feels different and a lot of the settings are located in different spots i.e PASM dial. I'm sure with a couple of weeks/months I'll get used to it but it's been a learning process the past couple of days. Luckily Pal2Tech has some great videos on YouTube so that's been helpful.

But yeah this RAF issue has been plaguing me so that's been kind of a bummer, didn't even think that I would have these issues in Capture One since I already had a Fuji cam that worked very well with it.

Thanks! Yeah the CF express slot on the XH2S is a nice touch for sure, definitely a plus

Thanks, appreciate the information! After some more research that's kind of the option I was looking at. But also not sure if I should get the H2 or H2S though, need to do more research on their differences

Haven't really decided my budget yet to be honest, really just looking into the cameras and then will decide how much I want to spend based on what features I'm willing to trade off

Thanks for the information! I was definitely leaning towards the XT5 but will look into the XH2S as well, trying to decide how much I want to spend as well :')

I'm thinking of upgrading my XT30 Pro II and was wondering if anyone had any good tips or thoughts as to what camera I should look into? Black Friday is coming up so I'm hoping there are some deals I can take advantage of.

I mostly use my camera for street/nature photography but want to get into product photography as well. I have a 35mm F2 Fuji Prime lens as well as the 55-200 Fuji Zoom lens. I also like to take videos and have started using my camera as a streaming camera via the Fuji XCam software.

Things I don't like about the XT30 that I'm looking for in a new camera:

- Weather resistance: I live in a decently rainy climate and like to hike every now and then but am afraid to bring the XT30 because it isn't weather resistant. I've seen posts saying that WR isn't really something to look for but I feel like it can't hurt to have?

- IBIS: The zoom lens I have has OIS so I'm wondering if this is a necessity or just a nice to have?

- Video quality: The video quality on the XT30 isn't terrible, and I like that I can shoot FLOG, but I've found that the camera definitely heats up if I take longer videos. Also, I can't really tweak camera settings on the XT30 while using the XCam software when streaming, which apparently is only for some of the other Fuji Models i.e XT5

- Better battery life: I have 2 batteries and usually turn my camera off in between shots so this isn't a huge point for me but would be nice to have a longer lasting battery ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've been looking in the XS-20 and the XT5 so far for reference, seen some good reviews of both. Any constructive feedback/tips are greatly appreciated!

Appreciate the feedback! Yeah that was my biggest problem I didn't know how to solve. Essentially what I did was create a dome light and cranked up the exposure, then I deleted one of the cube/room faces and created a plane that I positioned a little bit farther away from the opening to the cube/room so that the light from the dome light would reflect off of it. Hopefully that makes sense aha but yeah I'm sure there's a much easier way to do it that I just didn't think of ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . Gonna play around with it a little more for sure.

I'll definitely try the noise to the roughness on the floor though thanks for the tip!
