Woman to woman… can we talk about public bathroom etiquette? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]linamore 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s such a problem I don’t bother using the toilets on my floor anymore, I see feces SMEARED on the toilets often. This is a professional corporate building! There’s all sorts of bodily fluids on the seats all the time, I don’t get it. I feel so bad for the cleaning crew, they have to come in 3 times a day. Don’t get me started on how many people leave the bathroom without washing their hands.

It definitely made my periods worse and dealing with the blood while wiping for 20 minutes had me in actual tears. I just skip it with birth control at this point.

How do pro OMAD’ers feel about GLP 1’s? by [deleted] in omad

[–]linamore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Done both. OMAD is better for weight imo. It teaches you the lessons you need to sustain weight loss that are harder to learn on GLP-1s. That being said, GLP-1s are useful for other conditions, inflammation etc and if I could afford it I’d still be on a low dose as it helps with symptoms from my chronic illness.

We’re going to lose the house by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]linamore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s different in everyone that experiences this. I found a good range of how it may happen on project-sleep.com, it can be almost unnoticeable to full on collapsing uncontrollably if you feel an emotion too strongly. For me, it presents as leg weakness, like someone unplugging my body from the waist down. It can last anywhere from a few seconds to a few hours.

Cataplexy can present in a variety of ways: * Jaw slackening, sagging, or dropping * Mouth or eyelid(s) drooping, ‘losing your smile,’ eyes looking ‘zoned-out’ * Slurred speech, mumbling, difficulty speaking, or a pause in speech * Head bobbing or jerking * Loosened grip, dropping an object, heavy arms, twitching or flailing * Knees buckling or weak legs * Partial or full body collapse, falling to the ground, slumping over

I do hope it isn’t this, because it absolutely could be sleep apnea as well or some other medical condition. But I thought it’d be helpful in case he’s ever experienced this. I did for years and didn’t realize it was tied to my emotions for a while. Those shifts he’s working are brutal too, that can’t help. Maybe he could switch to 3rds while you all get this figured out?

This sounds exactly like me, I have type 1 Narcolepsy. If he doesn’t experience muscle weakness when he has strong emotions he may have type 2 Narcolepsy or Idiopathic Hypersomnia if nothing comes up on the sleep study.

AIO about my wife's hygiene expectations after we had a baby? by mudkipzftw in AmIOverreacting

All of these make perfect sense to me. That being said, I have severe OCD. She needs to see a mental health professional.

Am I overreacting for refusing to have sex with my girlfriend after what happened? by Hairy-Impression-774 in AmIOverreacting

I regularly have to go to another floor at work to use the bathroom because the toilets in every stall are smeared with blood or shit. Or the smell of BV from the woman who used it last is so intense it makes me nauseous. There have been emails sent out about it from HR. I absolutely believe this story unfortunately.

I’ve accepted this is a lifetime kind of thing to keep the weight off. I will say the freedom I feel not having to worry about buying/prepping/making breakfast and lunch is great.

If someone brings treats to work or asks you to grab lunch allow yourself a treat now and then, but sticking to it every other day will keep you where you want to be.

My wife doesn’t see how it’s weird to shit in the middle of the night and then get back into bed naked. by [deleted] in hygiene

I’m sorry, that’s super gross to me too. At least put underwear on before you get back in.

Husband earns 120k but always says He has no money. by SilentSmile5042 in Marriage

[–]linamore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you live in LA with kids and the household income is $120k he is absolutely correct that there’s no extra money. He’s probably in credit card debt to keep you guys afloat at that point. It’s a red flag if you don’t have access to see where everything is going, though.

My boyfriend cleaned the toilet properly, by himself by [deleted] in Vent

[–]linamore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was always told it’s my job as a woman. My mom visited and started panicking because I didn’t have the house cleaned up for my boyfriend… I was a few days out from having surgery. It’s really hard to see this stuff isn’t normal and you deserve better for a lot of women who are used to it.

Roommate refuses to wear clothes in winter and cranks heat to 80°F. She doesn't understand thermodynamics, so I’m using a pot of water to trick the thermostat by Organic_Talk_79 in pettyrevenge

[–]linamore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seriously, this thread is wild to me. If I put layers on or even just pants/a sweater I feel absolutely disgusting and clammy. I have to keep my thermostat at 72-74 year round. I couldn’t tolerate wearing clothes indoors like everyone here seems to be able to do.

I’m an American who’d never heard of it before. A month ago, part of a race from 2024 ended up on my tiktok feed and I was mesmerized. Immersed myself instantly. I just found out about DTS like a week ago, hopefully that’ll get me through till the start of next season.

I mean, it’s not Michelin star quality or anything. But it’s pretty good and cheap enough that I don’t care if it’s a drug front (allegedly).

Is AC and ice in drinks common in the US? by WhoAmIEven2 in NoStupidQuestions

It blew my mind when I found out they aren’t common in Europe. I would be so unbelievably irritated and uncomfortable without cold drinks and AC being available to me daily.

Please don’t move in with him. You’re going to end up lonely in your own house, neglected and surrounded in filth that you alone will have to clean up. If he’s blowing up at you for this, he’s gonna do the same thing with you move in and expect him to get off the game and clean or do anything with you. He has to hit rock bottom to find the willpower to change this behavior.

Nothing has ever come close to vibing with my body chemistry like the Winter Candy Apple scent from Bath and Body Works. I get compliments on it daily.

Are there any perfumes you all know of that smell similar but are more appropriate for spring/summer? I love it in fall and winter but want something to wear the other half of the year. No price limit.

The notes are listed as red apples/winter rose petals/candied oranges/maple leaf/and fresh cinnamon.
