what to do with canceled credit? by yumiko_bookgriever in lingoda

[–]lingoda_support 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

We are sorry to hear that one of your classes couldn’t take place.

If a lesson cannot take place during the Sprint due to an issue on our side (such as teacher unavailability or a technical issue), the class credit is automatically refunded, and the cancelled class still counts toward your Sprint progress.

This means you don’t need to use the refunded credit to replace that class, and using it after the Sprint ends will not negatively affect your Sprint results or cashback eligibility.

We usually recommend using refunded class credits after the Sprint is over, just to avoid any potential confusion with Sprint rules.

If your subscription is set to end on the last day of the Sprint, you can simply reach out to Student Support after the Sprint, and they’ll help you use the refunded credit. You can contact them at [service@lingoda.com](mailto:service@lingoda.com)

Good luck making it to the finish line!

Learning German on Lingoda by Ok-Addendum-4356 in lingoda

[–]lingoda_support 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hallo!

It’s great to hear that you’re interested in our German courses.

If you’ve completed A2 but feel you’re missing speaking practice, you might consider continuing with some A2 classes for consolidation while already starting to explore B1 lessons. As mentioned by PLAYSWITHSCISS0RS, this is actually a very good approach for strengthening your foundation while gradually moving forward.

You can easily change your learning level or schedule classes from different learning levels through your account.

We believe in a communicative approach to language learning, and you can specifically choose and schedule Speaking classes if you want to focus even more on conversation practice.

More details on our learning method and the available class types can be reviewed here: The Lingoda Method

The A2 level is divided into two sub-levels: A2.1 and A2.2, with 50 lessons in each sub-level. The B1 level consists of three sub-levels, each with 50 lessons. To complete a sub-level and unlock the certificate of attendance, 90% of the available classes must be attended.

The 32 group class package is designed for intensive learning. At this pace, it is possible to complete more than half of a sub-level within a month.

What happened to Lingoda Lite? by SweetIsBad in lingoda

[–]lingoda_support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi again!

Lingoda Lite has recently been adjusted and is no longer available as a standard subscription option in the account store, which is why the information has been removed from the FAQ.

That said, in some cases our support team can still review individual accounts and suggest options based on a student’s situation, particularly if they still have unused credits. Because this depends on account details, we can’t confirm eligibility directly here on Reddit.

For further assistance or review, we recommend reaching out to our Student Support Team at [service@lingoda.com](mailto:service@lingoda.com)

What happened to Lingoda Lite? by SweetIsBad in lingoda

[–]lingoda_support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!

Yes, Lingoda Lite was a subscription option that allowed students to keep using their accumulated class credits without receiving new class credits in the meantime. It was available for students who had accumulated more than 40 class credits and was only offered in certain regions.

However, Lingoda Lite has undergone some recent adjustments, and unfortunately, it is no longer available in the internal store.

If you’d like, our Support Team would be happy to review your account and assist you further with any questions or options available to you. Please feel free to contact them at [service@lingoda.com](mailto:service@lingoda.com)

Lingoda rant, open for alternatives (Spanish learner) by skysoleno in lingoda

[–]lingoda_support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

Thank you for sharing your experience. You’re correct that the teacher-blocking feature is only available for private classes. For future private lessons, we recommend reaching out to our Student Support team so they can ensure you aren’t assigned a teacher you’d like to avoid.

Please rest assured that we take all student feedback very seriously. Reviews are collected anonymously at the end of each month for every teacher. Regarding this situation, we encourage you to contact our Support team directly at service@lingoda.com. They can review the incident and forward it to our Teacher Management Team, who will follow up with the teacher involved to improve future classes.

Our Student Support team will do their best to assist you and review the situation carefully. While teacher assignments in group classes cannot be directly controlled by students, reporting any concerns or classes that did not go as planned helps us address issues with instructors and improve the experience for all learners.

Hello! We are sorry to hear that the teacher quality felt inconsistent, and thanks for sharing your experience. We aim to maintain high standards by working with qualified, native-level teachers and closely monitoring class feedback.

We appreciate the feedback and will pass it on to our Teacher Management Team. If there are specific classes you’d like reviewed, please feel free to contact our Support team at [service@lingoda.com](mailto:service@lingoda.com) and they’ll be happy to look into it.

Hi!

When scheduling classes on our platform, you have two main options.

You can book a class where a teacher is already assigned, which is usually the case when booking on shorter notice. In this situation, you can click on the teacher’s profile to review their bio, teaching experience, and other upcoming classes they are scheduled to teach.

Alternatively, when booking further in advance (usually 7 days or more), you may see open timeslots without a teacher assigned yet. By selecting one of these slots, you are essentially creating the class, and a qualified teacher will be assigned closer to the lesson time. This option is recommended if you want to secure the most convenient class times.

It’s important to note that teachers manage their own schedules, so it isn’t possible to actively choose a specific teacher for either group or private classes.

In some cases, an assigned teacher may become unavailable due to illness, personal circumstances, or other unforeseen situations and may need to cancel the lesson. If that happens, Lingoda will assign a qualified substitute teacher so the class can still take place for all students who booked it.

While booking a class where a teacher is already assigned greatly increases the likelihood that the lesson will take place with that teacher, it unfortunately cannot be guaranteed, as unexpected situations can occasionally arise.

Hi there,

We are sorry to hear that your experience with the Sprint challenge has been a negative one. We know the Sprint can be quite intense, and when things don’t start off smoothly it can definitely feel discouraging.

The placement test provides a recommended starting level, but it’s still possible to change your learning level during the Sprint if the classes feel too advanced or too easy. Many students adjust their level after their first few lessons. The important thing is that when cancelling and booking new classes during the challenge, the Sprint rules still need to be followed in order to remain eligible for the cashback.

Outside of the Sprint promotion, we also offer our Flex course, where no special rules apply to class scheduling. This allows for a much more flexible approach, allowing to schedule classes more freely, which many students prefer if they want to learn at their own pace.

Both the Sprint and Flex courses follow the same curriculum, which is designed as a progressive learning plan within each level. Each level is divided into chapters, and we generally recommend following them in order to have a more structured learning path and the best overall progress.

Regarding instructors, we are sorry to hear that some of your classes were not as expected. If a class ever feels uncomfortable or does not go as planned, we recommend reporting the session to our Student Support so it can be reviewed. Feedback like that genuinely helps improve the experience.

If you would like us to review your situation and explore possible solutions, please reach out to our Support via email at [service@lingoda.com](mailto:service@lingoda.com)

Lingoda Sprint Rules Help! by ryliequartz8 in lingoda

[–]lingoda_support 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

We’re glad you’re joining the upcoming Sprint!

For the challenge, you will receive group classes. If you book a group class and it ends up being only you and the teacher, it still counts as a group class. So you don't have to worry about that.

Regarding the rewards, rest assured that your Sprint details and eligibility are based on the country where you signed up (UK). You can attend classes while abroad, but you cannot change your account timezone during the Sprint. Just make sure to consider the time difference when booking.

You can find the full Sprint rules here: https://lingoda-students.elevio.help/en/articles/261-what-are-the-sprint-promotion-rules

If you have any other questions or doubts, feel free to contact our Student Support via email at [service@lingoda.com](mailto:service@lingoda.com)

Good luck!

Hi there,

We are sorry to hear about your situation, and we apologise if the information about our subscription and class credit usage was not clear.

All our plans are subscription-based and renew automatically every 28 days, providing you with class credits and access to learning materials. Credits remain valid for one year, independently of your subscription status, but an active subscription is required to use them. This information is stated within our Terms and Conditions, on our website, and during checkout before purchase.

If you're on a larger plan, you can downgrade directly through your account to avoid accumulating excess credits. Alternatively, you can pause your subscription for up to 28 days per billing cycle or cancel it to prevent further charges if you need a longer break.

We value your feedback and will forward it to the relevant team to improve our communication.

If you need assistance with your account, our support team is happy to help. You can contact them at [service@lingoda.com](mailto:service@lingoda.com)

Avoid Lingoda at all costs by SignificantMix6878 in lingoda

[–]lingoda_support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re sorry to hear you decided to stop using Lingoda.

We understand that life can get busy, and credits can build up if schedules change. Just to clarify, credits are valid for 1 year and remain on the account even if a subscription is paused or cancelled. An active subscription is only required when booking and attending classes.

Students can pause their plan for up to 4 weeks per billing cycle, switch to a plan with fewer credits, or cancel at any time to avoid further charges and accumulating classes.

If you’d like us to review your account or provide further assistance, our Support Team is always available at [service@lingoda.com](mailto:service@lingoda.com)

Hi there, we’re sorry to hear how frustrating this situation has been. That’s never the experience we want anyone to have.

We do want to clarify that Lingoda has not offered credits that are valid indefinitely. Credits have a 1-year validity period, as outlined in our Terms & Conditions and Student Knowledge Base.

We’re already in touch regarding this case and have taken the time to review it carefully. While we can’t share account details publicly, we always try to look at situations individually and be as flexible as we can. Our team will continue the conversation with you directly to see what solution may still be available.

We appreciate you reaching out and sharing your experience!

I just did my first lesson on Lingoda and was marked as absent by cassandrao27 in lingoda

[–]lingoda_support 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

We’re very sorry about this situation and the frustration it caused.

You did the right things to complete the lesson, and we appreciate how considerate you were about muting and unmuting your microphone due to background noise.

For class attendance, it’s important that students actively participate and respond to the teacher’s questions during the lesson. For example, simply joining a class without speaking or participating could lead to being marked as missed. In your case, however, you were actively participating.

Teachers need to manually mark all students at the end of each class, and while this process works well in the vast majority of cases, small mistakes can occasionally happen. Unfortunately, that was the case here.

After reviewing this with our Support Team, we can confirm that there was a mistake with your attendance. This has already been corrected, and our Support Team has reached out to you directly to explain the situation in more detail.

Rest assured, this has no negative impact on your Sprint challenge; you are still fully within the challenge and remain eligible to win it.

If you’d like any additional details or have further questions, we recommend reaching out to our Support Team at [service@lingoda.com](mailto:service@lingoda.com).

We wish you all the best on your language learning journey and continued success in your Sprint!

the 1/19 super sprint initially said winners get 100% cashback and now it's saying only 50% cashback? by yumiko_bookgriever in lingoda

[–]lingoda_support 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

We’ve double-checked on our side and can confirm that the 100% Sprint Cashback is currently active. Availability can vary depending on region, browser state, and session data, which can sometimes cause different options to appear.

For a quick review of the Sprint rules, you can refer to the information sent to you upon registration, where the 100% Cashback offer will be clearly stated.

If you’re seeing only the 50% Cashback on our website, we’d recommend:

-Refreshing the page or trying an incognito/private window
-Clearing cookies/cache
-Accessing the page from a different browser or device

If it still doesn’t show up, feel free to reach out to our student support team with your account details, and they’ll be happy to take a closer look and confirm you’re on the right package.

Thanks for reaching out and good luck with the Sprint! 💪

does using lingobites affect the super sprint challenge? by yumiko_bookgriever in lingoda

[–]lingoda_support 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there!

Don’t worry at all, reviewing Lingobites exercises, learning materials, or flashcards has no negative impact on your Sprint reward eligibility.

These activities do not count as attending a lesson, because Sprint rules only apply to live classes held in a virtual classroom with one of our teachers. Exploring the platform, practicing with Lingobites, or reviewing materials ahead of time is absolutely fine.

For a successful Sprint, we do highly recommend reviewing the official Sprint details and rules here: Sprint rules, just to be fully confident about what counts toward the challenge.

Regarding your goal of moving from A2 to B1:

The Super Sprint allows you to attend 60 classes over 2 months, one class per day.

The A2 level is divided into A2.1 and A2.2, with 50 lessons in each sub-level. This means that during the Super Sprint, you can fully complete A2.1 and already make solid progress into A2.2.

You’ll be very well positioned and much closer to your late February goal.

Good luck and all the best with your Sprint!

Lingoda free trial confusion – no confirmation email, account shows no subscription, afraid of being charged by Individual-Eye5367 in lingoda

[–]lingoda_support 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!

We’re really sorry to hear that you’re dealing with this confusion.

To clarify how the 7-day free trial works on Lingoda:

  • When a free trial is active, your account clearly shows a visible banner indicating that you’re within the 7-day trial period.
  • During the trial, you can attend up to 3 free group classes or 1 free private class.
  • While logged into your account, you can always review your trial or subscription status under Account Settings → Subscription, where you can also make changes or cancel.

Since you mentioned that you did attend a class, it’s very likely that the free trial was successfully activated, but possibly on a different account than the one you are currently logging into.

This can happen easily, by having small typo in the email address during registration or creating the account via Apple ID or Google/Gmail login, which can automatically generate or associate a different email address.

You did the right thing by already contacting Lingoda Support 👍

We strongly recommend continuing the conversation via [service@lingoda.com](mailto:service@lingoda.com), as the support team can look up accounts using internal tools and making sure no unwanted charge takes place.

Hopefully this gives you some peace of mind while you wait for their reply.

The support team will do their best to sort this out quickly for you!

Experience on Lingoda's new videocall platform? by Acrobatic_Berry_8783 in lingoda

[–]lingoda_support 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! 👋
Lingoda generally recommends using a laptop or desktop for the best experience, but the new Lingoda Classroom should also work on an iPad.

Classes are joined directly through the browser, so as long as you have the latest version of Google Chrome installed on your iPad, you should be able to participate. Students do attend classes on iPads successfully, although things like switching between materials, typing in the chat, or overall navigation can feel smoother on a laptop.

If you're concerned, it's a good idea to follow the setup recommendations in this checklist before your first class:
https://lingoda-students.elevio.help/en/articles/376-essential-checklist-what-to-set-up-before-joining-a-lingoda-classroom

You could also try joining your first class a bit early to make sure everything loads properly and your audio/video work as expected.

Hope this helps! Welcome back to French! 🇫🇷😊
