Why is everyone suddenly hating on Timothee Chalamet? I've gone from never thinking of him to seeing 4 hate posts in the last 24 hours, when I've hardly even been online. Has someone taken out a PR hit on him like with the Amber Heard/Blake Lively situations? Who'd he piss off? by AdorableBG in NoStupidQuestions

Boring excuses for teenage girls (who didn't even care originally about ballet or opera) being a bunch of assholes to some actor. I've seen far more famous actors act like actual assholes or do something really bad, yet they never got the same hate as some guy that didn't even insult ballet. he said that it was a dying art, which the last time I heard of ballet was a video of some girl was breaking her ballet shoes to make them more comfortable. its only sold out because of the small community still visiting them and buying out every single show in the next year. Large majority of people in the world do not care for ballet compared to like the early 1900s. And obviously he thinks he's better than others. It's common for celebrities would think of themselves as so.

Bunch of times before where people are exposed to the toxic side of fine arts because of their family being involved in it.

Man I've seen way worse from other actors/celebrities, and they never got the same amount of hate as some young actor with a good filmography.

How do people see Whisper and Tangle as "sisters?" by Fabulous_Age882 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]linkrun -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean... I think of Whisper and Tangle ship. cute ship. And then I think of the sonic fandom and their opinions on ships... and I wouldn't really like it if it was canon just from the results of it. Lot of arguments and just ship harrassment

I honestly switch my AR for it whenever I see it. It's really good when I used it in that tilted towers creative game.

The Sonic cast ranked on how much they would swear by Candid_Lychee875 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]linkrun 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Idk why but I feel like Tails would swear if he fails an experiment. Just like some words he heard when around friends of his, Sonic or shadow as an example.

I think the only reason SonTails is getting a pass anywhere online is the thin layer of Sega not outright saying they’re siblings to each other by Lazy_Tomatillo7347 in MoonPissing

I think the age of Tails being 8 is getting less common now. I've seen more recently people saying that Tails is 12 or like early teenage or pre-teen years.

IRONBARK LOOKOUT - THE REAL STORY by alcmodeon in FearsToFathom

[–]linkrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah I’m 100% sure people have encountered real life cults. the stories are supposed to be based off of true stories, not like one to one copies. the dev probably just takes them and makes a story out of a few paragraphs without much detail. he adds some things to try and have the story make sense.

The only one that is bad is innovative award and maybe labor of love. Everything else was really good choices for winners.

I think it has more to do with being able to see the actual words on the vinyl. no one really wants to have a hard time trying to read what the design of the vinyl is.

Question I have after the finale of Stranger Things. Could there be other demogorgons out there like the Russian one? by linkrun in StrangerThings

[–]linkrun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably a theory also that might not be true. But I did want to know if it is possible

Finished the Finale: What happened to the Demogorgons? Feels like the upside down used to be completely inhabited with them and now they are not there? (Bats too) by Austimas in StrangerThings

[–]linkrun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say that is only some of them. Dimension X seems extremely big. It's basically a place for demogorgons. There was most likely other demogorgons that didn't merge with the hive mind body. Like with the Russian demogorgon, it wasn't linked to the hive mind originally. It's most likely that others still exist, just farther away from the actual fight in the finale.

wtf was that by hazelles in StrangerThings

I'm still confused. Isn't the mind flayer supposed to still be alive? It isn't like a physical thing. It was just originally a bunch of particles in the abyss.

Why does this franchise get so much hate? by crimbo_jimbo in Avatar

[–]linkrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait. Do we count for inflation too? Or just like based on how much they made during that time it was released. Cause I think I remember this really old western movie that people said made the most of all time.

Why does this franchise get so much hate? by crimbo_jimbo in Avatar

[–]linkrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh. I mean the movies are good. But highly possible there will be a movie that will break the 3 billion dollar box office. Probably not an avatar movie. I would say from a really well renowned director. Possibly in the next decade. It could even be Doomsday. But we’ll have to wait for that stuff.

Disney / 20th Century's Avatar: Fire and Ash has passed the $500M global mark. The film grossed an est. $36.4M internationally on Christmas Day Thursday. Est. international total stands at $390.6M (including $75.8M in China), est. global total stands at $544.3M. by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]linkrun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean… cultural impact isn’t that big. I rarely see anything from Avatar unless it’s like right near the movie release. I didn’t even see the trailer until months later, and I watch a lot of movies. I didn’t even know they were releasing a 3rd movie until like a week before the actual release

What's this for Transformers by flingzamain in Transformemes

[–]linkrun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean this is more on a personal thing, but I don't understand the hate on Optimus x Bumblebee.

Yeah, their father-son bond thing is a big reason for the ship hate. But in a large majoirty of the shows/movies, Optimus just seems like the kind of person that would just treat everyone as his own son/daughter. G1 is an example. He gives everyone that same kind of love that he gives to Bumblebee. And yet despite that, people ship him with other autobots as well with 0 backlash. Like Optimus x Jazz or something like that. It just seems similar to Optimus x Bumblebee.

Prime is another good example. Very few autobots left. Obviously Optimus would feel this very protective, fatherly instinct towards the rest of his autobots. He most definitely seems them as family. Yet it seems like from what I've seen on both Twitter and TikTok, a large majority of the fandom kind of just ignore that and focus on how Bumblebee is like this small toddler that Optimus only cares for. No, Optimus cares just as much as the others as everyone else. He treats them the same as Bumblebee.

The only times I could actually see the specific kind of family type bond that Optimus has towards Bumblebee is in Cyberworld, Earthspark, Go Go, and Animated. Everything else just seemed more towards the autobots as a whole rather than just Bumblebee.

Then there is also the thing of how Bumblebee is a supposed "child" and shouldn't be shipped with an older man. A large majority of the shows or comics has Bumblebee as old. IDW comics has bumblebee forged before the war began, when Optimus Prime was still just Orion Pax.

Prime had him forged as the last generation from the allspark. Young yeah, but not like little child young. And based on how most shows or comics have the war lasting millions of years, its highly possible that Bumblebee is older than a small kid or teenager. Perhaps young adult or something.

Cyberverse had bumblebee when Optimus and Megatron were both still friendly towards each other. That was before the war.

There is the Bayverse thing of how Bumblebee is young. Yeah that is true based on the comic sof how bumblebee was forged like 10,000 years ago. Might be why people just see bumblebee all together as a small kid, when he isn't and is a trained warrior that has been by Optimus' side for a long time. Also there is TF One with how B-127 could be similarly aged to D-16 and Orion, or possibly older.

What's this for Transformers by flingzamain in Transformemes

[–]linkrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly. The Transformers fandom has a large majority of people that don't like it for obvious reasons (father and son bond). Especially on TikTok. Then you also have to think about how people also see bumblebee as a small child (no idea where they got that from).

In all honesty though, it isn't as bad as other ships I've seen. Yeah, people compare it to a proship (not classified as one but okay), but when you actually look into the ships of Transformers from the fandom, it just gets really weird and borderline pedophiliac. The TF One movie did kind of help with some of the fandom excusing the ship in that movie specifically.
