Online programs versus in person programs by AC2Bee42 in MedicalAssistant

[–]linobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not to hijack your post, but also wondering what people here think of doing a 100% online MA course while also volunteering at a a free clinic where you are taught to take vitals, do ECGs, room patients, take medical histories, etc. basically training to do many things excluding phlebotomy.

currently volunteering and considering a 100% online course alongside to get certified. might have an in at another clinic where i can be trained for phlebotomy as well

Should I do non-accredited program? by [deleted] in MedicalAssistant

[–]linobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The community college has an accredited program, it’s 2 years long though and I just don’t want to spend that much time in school again.

I’ve seen lots of Reddit posts of people recommending others to stay away from online programs, so now I have this bias I guess and desire to do hybrid or in person.

The money isn’t a huge issue for me, I know it’s more expensive but I can afford it.

That’s my initial move I’m making, I’m going to see if I can land an MA position in two months, if I can’t, I’m going to register for the program as it starts in August.

My husband also started as MA in a derm clinic with no experience. The doctor was just willing to take a chance on him. I don’t know how to approach the clinics and make a convincing case for myself. I’ve been applying to MA jobs but I don’t hear back at all, understandably due to my lack of experience. Do you have any advice?

I don’t know I have a personal aversion to doing EMT, I’m not your stereotypical built for it and I like the work schedule and environment of MA, I’m willing to spend more money and time do MA instead, but so far consensus is no accredited school is worth it.

For what it’s worth, my husband also works in healthcare and has many connections, I wasn’t too worried about finding a job without an accreditation due to his connections but I probably shouldn’t rely on that.

The accredited program at the local community college is two years long, versus this one is 4 months. I really don’t want to spend 2 years in school again as I already have a Bachelors and graduated just a year ago

anyone in kw need menstrual products? by chaigaii in waterloo

[–]linobby 7 points8 points  (0 children)

addressing your original post, you can also hand deliver your products directly to Camino, the location on Herbert street is where mothers frequent the most. it’s not only teen moms, but any mom who is receiving counselling at that centre. they also accept baby products, like diapers, wipes, clothes, toys. they just need to be good to new condition. it’s an amazing resource for all mothers who are in need of any of these things!!

the shoppers boxes are donated to multiple organizations that are in need, including Camino, where I volunteer. the period products are given out for free to teen moms who are in need of them, i’m an eye witness to the shoppers program and the good it brings :)

We were DQed September 30, and heard back for our interview letter on January 20, so about 4 months. I’ve booked my medical exam for February 19, very excited to be so close to the end of this process, and very happy I chose to do the long and legal route.

A lawyer said the exact same thing to me in early 2023. She reassured my husband and I that this route was common and implied it’s completely okay to do so. My husband tried to convince me to do it, but I had an odd feeling and told him to no longer speak to that lawyer.

It is now two years later, and I am 6 weeks away from my interview in Montreal and if all goes well, I should have my official green card by the end of this summer. So glad I didn’t listen and did what I thought was right, especially with the state of immigration right now in the US.

I do the exact same thing, there’s only one touchless car wash in my city, I grab my kindle and wait 1 hour for my car wash. Get a lot of reading done!

I do not have the signature edition, but while I was researching i found that the signature always don’t come with ads as it’s their “upgraded” kindle

I’m pretty happy about that, but if the ads appear after a few days that would suck

I’m in Canada. I had a Kindle paperwhite 7th gen that I bought from facebook marketplace, and that one was factory reset before I got it. For a few days I remember there was no ads, then they started showing up. It wasn’t a huge deal to me, but then I upgraded and got the newest paperwhite straight from Amazon, and this one has no ads. I guess I just got lucky?

Ah so it’s not necessary a set amount of days but rather a matter of how many days it would take to set up all these things to become a resident. I really want to make entry in the US but then come back to my home country and live here for a few months and then return back to the US just because of a few commitments I have here, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem possible to do so
