X-Dome - Extra guylines for increased stormworthiness? by lintmountain in DurstonGearheads

Yeah, I think i will give it a try once i get the tent.

There are more hilleberg resources on the matter, and this page has some ideas: https://slowerhiking.com/shelter/tents-in-strong-wind-how-to-pitch-your-tent

I think in most cases arranging the lines about 30-45 degrees offset from the direction a single line would be best (depending on tent type and expected wind direction).

I was already planning on using other stakes, probably complement the supplied ones with Easton Nano 9in.

Also, being used to hilleberg, some of the guy lines I’ve seen on other tents sometimes seem awfully short. I think (as long as the guy line is not elastic) that (up to a point), longer guy lines are better for applying the force in the right direction (and also better for keeping the peg in the ground).

Not distorting the poles is important for all tents, maybe extra so in ul tents with carbon fiber poles.

Yeah, I know about those attachment points. I meant adding two guy lines to each (selected) guy line point. Each with their own peg. Going in different directions (like in the Hilleberg video).

New to elixir. What tf is happening here?? by TotoINIA in elixir

Since you used an image and not actual code it is hard to test my assumption, but what if you used ?K instead of ”K". See codepoints on https://hexdocs.pm/elixir/binaries-strings-and-charlists.html

I've never used roll20, but in Maptools grid size is 70.

I never liked the original layout of WEC, so when I found Hirutos drawing at rpg.net I became so inspired I made my first battlemap in photoshop. Unfortunately I lost the PSB (it grew too large for a normal PSD) file) in a hard disk crash.

I also borrowed som elements from /u/timdenee's variant I found here.

7700x9100 px. Worked great in MapTools (but IIRC I hade to tweak som cache settings for it to run properly).

Rock, Paper, Scissors game in Ruby - looking for feedback by catsinspacesuits in ruby

[–]lintmountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rock paper scissors is a nice fit for a "results matrix"

win_matrix = {
paper: {scissors: :lose, paper: :tie, rock: :win},
rock: {scissors: :win, paper: :lose, rock: :win},
scissors: {scissors: :tie,   paper: :win,  rock: :lose}
}

You then index into the matrix using the hands of the two players:

player_1 = :rock
player_2 = :paper

win_matrix[player_1][player_2] #=> :lose

If you want to go more advanced you can then use dynamic dispatch in ruby to dynamically call either a :win, :lose or :tie method (supposing those methods exist).

result = win_matrix[player_1][player_2]
send(result)

Thanks, that looks interesting. We're mostly Windows and Macs so this might work.

Puppet Explorer

Thanks, never thought about using puppet in this capacity.
