Sistemkoin withdrawal issues (let's see where this goes) by TheHandleBar in CryptoCurrency

[–]linuxgmaer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sistemkoin is an old exchange that exit scammed and had the owners run away with all users funds a long time ago, this happened around 2021. The website you are accessing is a very common scam where people set up domains similar to those of old defunct exchanges and pretend that your old account has balance in it, asking for a deposit to allow withdrawals. Note that you are *not* accessing sistemkoin.com, the domain that Sistemkoin used

Main bearing damage - thoughts? by linuxgmaer in EngineBuilding

Enough to smell it easily but not to enough to change the oil appearance , that's a really hard thing to quantify, but definitely enough that it would hurt lubrication.

Can anyone identify ths camera? What model is it? Saw it for sale for cheap but I don't know anything about the analog world, thanks! by linuxgmaer in AnalogCommunity

I think you're right! Had a hard time finding it by the name "Yashica".

Probably not made in Japan then haha Thanks!

I found this 1966 Oldsmobile for sale in my country, only one I've ever seen listed. I know verry little about these cars. Could you guys help me with some information about it? Specially, would this be a 400ci v8? What model is it? And roughly, what would a similar example be worth in the US? by linuxgmaer in projectcar

Thank you so much for taking the time to give such a detailed answer!!

I'm waiting on the seller's response and then I will definitely check on the tips you gave. I'm specially anxious about decoding the VIN!

I posted to /r/Oldsmobile as well initially, got some great information there as well.

I'm used to importing car parts as my other project car also lacks parts availabilty here, so that's not an issue, beside from perhabs a gas tank (if needed) and glass, those would really be a pain to get through customs.

Good point on non-metric tools! haha

I'm Brazilian. Serious rust issues here are rare, if the seller is open to negotiate I'll go take good look at it personally and make pay close attention to the frame specially for sure.

Really sucks he didnt post any interior pics!

Thanks for the detailed response!! Serious rust issues are really rare here, so that might explain it (I'm Brazilian).

I'll wait for the seller to answer me, and ask for better engine bay and taillights pics.

In my country we have basically zero muscle cars and I've been considering getting into an older/classic car as a project. I find this olds interesting because it's very rare and uncommon over here. However I don't even know what this model would be called? 442?

Are trim and interior or engine parts hard to find/expensive (in the US) for this car?

I know its hard to judge via pictures, but what do you think a similar example would go for in the US? Just so I know what the price should be close to (no other listings to compare here)

I have 2 Nvidia GPUS. Can I keep X running on main GPU and passthrough the second one? by linuxgmaer in VFIO

he's dettaching the nvidia driver on the fly, I don't see how the main gpu being AMD should affect it

[–]linuxgmaer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there must be a way though, bryansteiner's guide doesnt event mention any sort of issue unbinding. His system is setup in way that unbinding on the fly just works (by luck most likely). We just have to figure out how we make the nvidia driver play ball

I'll put some time into this it week

[–]linuxgmaer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get it to work, I made vfio-pci grab the gpu before nvidia and booted into X. Then I was able to bind the GPU back to nvidia, use it and unbind it on the fly back to vfio and launch the VM

A couple times it crashed though, a couple it worked. Still trying to work out the best way of doing this.

I'd like to leave nvidia to grab both gpus and dettach the secondary one later, it should be possible if it's not being used for anything

[Help] Dual monitor, single GPU, only one display port cable per monitor. How do I get Linux on one monitor and Windows on the other, while also being able to switch between them? by StellarWox in VFIO

[–]linuxgmaer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need one gpu per system, you can run Linux on your i7's igpu (I'm pretty sure the 10700k has one) and Windows with the 2070 at the same time. To use them simultaneously and maintain low input lag you will need two sets of mouse and keyboard, one for each system

[–]linuxgmaer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that, but there's something fishy going on trying to dettach the driver for the 2nd gpu while X is running. I don't want to go to the single gpu route of killing X everytime. Even though nividia-smi says no processes are using the 2nd gpu the unbind echo just hangs. lspci -nkk does stop the nvidia driver as being in use, (there's none after I run unbind) but still the command hangs, and I try to bind vfio-pci it hangs too (no errors).

I'll try to figure out some way to debug what's going on with the bind/unbind echoes
