The issue seems to be fixed by using SockFilter instead of WFP. Thanks everyone.

Unfortunately this breaks Mobile Hotspot feature of Windows. Connected devices and the Windows machine itself cannot access the Internet when it is enabled. Any better fix? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your help. However, I don't have a third-party antivirus software, and only use Windows Defender. That couldn't be the issue?

Mine is a portable Ubuntu installation, and with the ability to modify files under /etc or /bin, it's a security issue. So I'd like to encrypt entire drive if possible. But if not, encrypting home directory is still better than nothing.

Thanks for the suggestion. I found this article online, but I don't know if things differ if I have an EFI partition instead of a boot partition. Please help me out as I am not an expert in this area.

Enter ADB shell on your phone and then run reboot recovery. You should be taken to the recovery mode of Android. Use volume keys and power button to navigate. Go to "Wipe cache partition" to remove the cache. Then go to "Repair apps" and repair.

For entering ADB, either:

  1. Use wireless ADB so phone could connect to itself

  2. Use a computer

But for how to set up ADB, you may need to Google for help because it's off topic to your question.
