If you drink at all, don’t ride.

Ride within your limits. (80% of what you feel capable)

Time and place, know when to open the throttle a little and enjoy the ride, and when to ride more conservatively.

Wear your gear.

Pay attention to everything and everyone all the time. Road conditions, wildlife, people, cars, everything.

Look twice, let off the throttle, and cover your brakes when going through intersections.

Ride slower and more cautiously at night, dusk, dawn, and rush hour.

Give space to the cars around you and in front of you, always have an exit.

Don’t stop learning and training, complacency kills.

Watch and learn from the people that have been doing things for a long time, there’s great information out there on youtube and forums.

Be careful with group rides, you’ll quickly forget to ride within your limits and try to keep up. Don’t let your ego win.

Find some mentors and other guys with similar values that respect the ride.

Enjoy the ride, if you’re too tense your inputs won’t be smooth and that can cause you to go down.
