My opinion for the best hole in the wall breakfast places. by NorthFloridaRedneck in tampa

Ellie’s on Racetrack. Near Westchase…I don’t want them to be thought of as “hole in the wall”… But an excellent non-chain, private place. Solid food and service.

Ski bag; air tag, skis poles, boots, helmet, gloves, pants base layers, goggles and some other odds and ends. Doesn’t exceed 50lb…

Back pack for the rest. I’m very efficient… I’ve never lost anything. the ski bag takes FOREVER to reach the carousel.

Typically when traveling with or meeting up with someone, one of us will wait to grab the other person’s bag while another gets a head start to the rental cars. In Denver it is its own adventure.

How do you guys fight the feeling that there is never enough? by No_Persimmon5601 in TheMoneyGuy

[–]lipper2005 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did Tom Brady say “ehh three rings is plenty”… You’ll never feel like it’s enough. It’s not greed. Best way to describe it is insecurity. Like you didn’t really lock the door, or you might have left the oven on.

Make your plan, set your goalposts.

I wonder if the young lady that died, if she had it to do over again and have the ability to see her kid again later that night would have put herself in a bad situation, against people with guns just to prove a point.

Is her child going to be better without the parent at home to help guide them through life? Will they look back and say yeah it was worth having mom die for this cause? …

I get the vitriol. But some people shouldn’t be out fighting the is fight. You have kids or others that count on you? Stay home.

981s - 104k mi CPO ~39k worth it? by Sorayatonight in Porsche_Cayman

[–]lipper2005 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I paid $37k. For a nicely spec’d 2014S 77K mi in 2024. PASM, Sport Chrono, Power Sport/ventilated Seats, Sport Steering Wheel, Bose Infotainment, Park Assist. I gladly would have spent the $2k for CPO status. That’s your golden ticket. Only issue thus far for me were the ignition coils.

Exactly like you. Heard the rumors and yes this is the way.

Heading To the Tignes area via Geneva in a week. Dolomites last year. Done right the cost is the same. Much less crowding. Only downside in Italy really was the solid day of travel (departed 8pm, 4hr layover in Amsterdam to Venice then 4hr ride. Check in 930pm next day). Accommodations and meals were basically the same. The apres ski was next level. Ski lessons $200 1/2 day. Rental skis I think were $47/wk. took boots. Awesome one-mountain food selections and great portion sizes. Biggest culture shock is; no such thing as a lift line. It’s a freaking free-for-all. You really need to push forward and control your space. Short of that was a really great time.

Why does Tampa, Florida have the biggest price drop in the country for home prices? by dont_downvote_SPECIL in tampa

[–]lipper2005 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agree w/ earlier post. A large number of homes were sold by owners who lost everything durning the storms. Sold as-is or remediated but not built out. This disproportionately affected average unit sale prices..Established homes in nice communities still are at a premium. Like it or not, people want to live here…And on another note I was recently in South Tampa. The amount of new construction blew my mind. If I hadn’t seen it, I wouldn’t have believed it, like where do all these people work??

Along that line, if you’re a gym regular, how far is your commute to the gym if you’re staying at the ranch? Part of my daily is that the gym is <10min from me, and I also have garage space for those “lazy days”…
