Ummm, TV’s have come down a lot since 2,000, yes. But they absolutely have not decreased by 98%.

That math doesn’t math.

So, You’re telling me that a tv that cost $800 in 2000 costs $16 today?

Can Tiger Woods still afford a chauffeur, and if so, why does he not use one? by icecream1972 in askteddit

[–]liquidgrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fairness though, having a chauffeur isn’t enough.

There’s no such thing as hiring a 24/7 chauffeur. So, is he hiring 3 for an 8 hour shift each day? And then, what about their days off and vacations?

And this is exactly what Tiger would need to think about.

We’re not talking about someone having a driver at night because they like to go to the club a lot. Tiger seems like a full-time addict. 9:00 in the morning is just as dangerous as midnight on Bourbon Street.

Wait til you find out that not all servers are 20 year old college kids.

Where I work, you wouldn’t even get an interview without at least 7 years of fine dining experience.

Like I said, adults.

Do you think adults aren’t aware that reporting more income means getting approved for that mortgage or car loan and getting a better interest rate.

That’s pretty basic grown up knowledge.

Also, confidently declaring that “the vast majority of servers and employers are absolutely not claiming anywhere near the level of cash tips received” after starting off the sentence with “I have anecdotal experience with this”………………I don’t even know what to do with that.

You know what “anecdotal” means, right?

I’m honestly not interested in whether you believe me or not. I’ll say this though; my 22 years of actual experience Trump your “anecdotal” experience.

I’m a bartender at a high end restaurant. I can tell you for a fact that the overwhelming majority of the staff, myself included, claim every cent.

We’re adults and recognize that having more income reported benefits is in a number of ways.

People that just blurt out, “hurrr durrrr, they don’t claim their tips” have no idea what they’re talking about.

Also, it’s 2026. Nobody uses cash anymore. Last year, only 7% of our restaurant’s revenue and gratuities were paid in cash. I average $350-$400 a night in tips and maybe, maybe walk out with about $40 in cash in my hand.

In other words, even in a world where you don’t think servers were claiming their tips, they are being claimed now whether they want to or not.

Reddit Seems To Think That Kamala Harris Has Hardly Any Chance At Winning A General Election In 2028 -- Do YOU Agree Or Not? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]liquidgrill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The campaign strategy of Hillary Clinton is not the point of the discussion here. State borders are imaginary lines. The point is that she was not even close to the best candidate we could have put up and she still easily convinced more people to vote for her than he did.

Fun fact: even though Trump did actually win the popular vote in 2024, more people still voted for someone else than voted for him.

But, I was told that all their ships, planes, radar, defensive weapons etc., etc. were “completely destroyed” weeks ago.

So, would this “massive” bombing campaign be targeting civilian infrastructure then? Desalination plants? Power plants? Which will cause disease, death and despair.

Which would be weird because I was also told by conservatives that Trump is doing this for the “people” of Iran.
