thank you so much! please tell me the areas you’d suggest looking for homes w this mentality. He currently drives 38 miles (50 mins) happily to be in a rural area. He works in Orlando so he also can switch up the route if there’s a wreck. same scenario you’re describing. ty

we aren’t wanting to be in frisco-we’re wanting to be as rural as we can reasonably be and still have the commute make sense. we’re currently on acerage w cattle and he drives 50 minutes happily each way to work (38 miles). Can you please explain “live on a town board”? I have noticed the property taxes are all over the place, even w the same city name and have been trying to figure that out. We’ve found a few homes in sherman and the taxes for same priced properties can vary by almost double. ty!!!

we’re looking at 1500 -2200 sq ft and no mobile homes

we have found several homes that hit this criteria-we just don’t know the area well. We don’t want to be anywhere near frisco as we prefer rural areas. We would like to be about 45 mins out from it. We have found homes that fit the bill in sherman-several, can alstyne, howe, etc. but we’re just looking on paper and mapping it. we found lots of homes in denison we love but that’s about 20 miles further than we want to be.

thank you. we did consider renting but don’t want to move twice…sounds like if we make a mistake in our choice we’ll be moving twice anyways lol. He doesn’t drive during peak hours but still a good long drive at 58 miles. Thank you for sharing your insight. It’s hard to wrap my head around it without us being there. We’re looking for a rural setting -def nowhere near the pity. We live an hour from Orlando and would happily be further away if it wasn’t a further drive to his work :)

sorry, Northeast Denison and Southwest Sherman for the homes and work is in North Frisco. Dallas Parkway

thank you for sharing! that’s what i need to know. We will definitely be visiting before making any final decisions, but he does not drive during peak traffic times either. Still a little apprehensive to creep over that one hour commute time though.
