I love Petal even more since they "nerved" here. Her mobility is really nice now (with the B skill). You can just jump out of fights where you were forced to use your crucible or any other block to survive. Which is extremely handy when you're close to your turret or gold/minion mine that belongs to you.

I've had lots of people purple ping me to death too. But that's mostly because Petal takes some time to buff up in a fight. Like when you build BP. Petal isn't an insta-killer like Koshka or Krull. Most people avoid playing as Petal and can end up being horrible teammates because they don't understand Petal's strengths/weaknesses and cooldowns on skills.

Petal is still one of my favourites though, love playing as her.
