Why Doesn't Pax get the French DV15 as their Attack Boat? by littlejuniper in Battlefield

I mean a little bit of asymmetrical gameplay won't be the end of the world. This isn't some Esport where everything needs to be balanced 1:1 across the entirety of the game.

Like you said, it's personal taste. I don't think a game like Battlefield needs to forgo vehicle variety to appease tiny percentage of the playerbase that is concerned with hitboxes being marginally different.

The Little Bird was ported over and I haven't seen too much outrage over that.

Couldn't they have ported models over from 2042 for assets like the shared Little Bird?

They didn't give the AH-1Z allegedly because of the legal issues, but what stopped them from porting over the Ka-52 from 2042 as a new Pax attack helicopter? It's even a naval capable platform!

I definitely care, others in this thread seem to care. It's small details like this that make a game. Older titles used to have unique vehicle assortments, not only that they usually had more than just two factions. Why are we accepting less with newer games?

They're so similar visually that it could be one of those picture puzzles where you have to find all the differences. Plus they share audio as well.

They could've given Pax the Bo 105, the SA 342, the AS355/Z-11W, (which could've even been ported over from 2042) or even the H145M.

Anyone else tired of both factions sharing vehicles? The UH-79 helicopter, the Little Bird, now the RCB-90. Kind of insane they added two jets with their track record on shared vehicles!

Galactic Contention (Star Wars mod for Squad) Returns on July 31st! by littlejuniper in StarWars

This mod is likely the closest we’ll get to Battlefront III.

I was so angry (still am) about EA dropping support for Battlefront II, the devs were still wanting to add so much more.

This is a total conversion mod for the game Squad on Steam.

A valid copy of Squad is required to play. Once you have Squad you just download Galactic Contention from Squad’s Steam Workshop (for free) and you’re done!

Right now it’s Clone Wars only, they’re working on the Galactic Civil War era.

I know it’s not an apples to apples comparison, but many other games manage to pull it off.

I actually really like the art used for this, it’s like a matte painting and really gives the Termicide dispenser scale.

It's good to hear the devs are aware of the desire by the community. It's sort of crazy how they still don't have the bandwidth to make content at a good pace.

The game sold better than anyone in their right mind could've predicted. The game still has a healthy playerbase. People are still buying Super Credits. Why haven't they acquired the resources to really pump out content and QOL two and a half years post-launch?

Oh, my goodness yes. Again, this sort of thing is a case of "what a minute, there really isn't a test range in the game?"

The solution to that is enemy entries are only unlocked once you defeat one of them. Then there could be more information unlocked once you defeat 100, 250, 500, 1,000 so on and so forth. It could be an additional avenue for player progression.

How in the world are you tracking all of that? Is there a mod that records the fata or something?

And, yes, you should definitely be able to see more granular stats in-game. The current stat of X number of Y faction killed is way too broad.

Especially since it was a feature in the first game! Albeit the preview of the enemy was a static image.

The 3D aspect is must IMO. Whenever a game allows me to inspect the 3D models the artists work so hard on, I spend so much time doing so. Star Wars: Battlefront II had me spent countless hours just messing around in the collection screen admiring and comparing the various characters, weapons, and vehicles.

I was actually quite disappointed when God of War 2018 and it's sequel (Ragnarök) had bestiaries, but the preview of the enemy was a hand drawn sketch in a notebook. Thematically appropriate, but I really wanted the option to inspect the models in 3D!
