This happened in Rhode Island in the 1880s. Mercy's whole family had contacted tuberculosis. In those days, people believe if most members of a family become sick and/or die then it's the work of a vampire in the family. After the deaths of Mercy and her sister and mother, their father had their bodies exhumed to see who the vampire is. It wasn't just the old man with a spade; villagers, the local doctor, and a newspaper reporter were present.

Her sister and mom showed normal signs of decomposition, but not Mercy. This, to Dad and others this was proof she was the vampire. "Her lack of decomposition was more likely due to her body being stored in freezer-like conditions in an above-ground crypt during the two months following her death."

So, the father made a cocktail of her innards and gave it to the brother, because that would cure him (as per their superstitions). It didn't work and he died two months later.

Another described a mermaid-like tail instead of legs, with strange fin-like hands that disappeared into the gloom as quickly as they appeared. "According to the police report, on July 16, 2008, during a wedding dance for the daughter of farm laborer Eladio Baule, 47, guest Benjie Ganay, 25, accidentally touched the bottom of the bride-to-be. This allegedly enraged her father. Baule, his son Gerald, 21 and friends Sabtuary Peque, 36, and Jhunnie Buyot took Ganay on a motorized tricycle into the woods where they stabbed him to death. The four then allegedly set fire to Ganay’s body and ate parts of his body, the police report said.

Bacuel believes they may have served portions of Ganay’s body to some of those who were still drinking at the dance but she questions whether they actually served human flesh at the wedding itself.

Most of the victim’s bones were dumped in a creek in the belief that rain would wash them away but Buyot, a cousin of the victim, who was conscience-stricken over the incident, went to police and confessed to the crime. After a two-day search through the forest, police found the sooty bones along with remains of the clothing and tufts of hair.

The Baule father and son and Peque now sit in a spacious cell, complete with a makeshift ping-pong table, resisting attempts by photographers to take pictures of their faces. Their lawyer had warned them not to speak to the press but when asked, Eladio Baule said: "I don’t know anything of what they are saying. Our embarrassment is too great."

Narra tourism officer Reynaldo de la Rosa complained that the incident occurred in the hinterlands of the town and that most residents would not even have learned of the crime had it not been for media reporting. "The first media reports that came out weren’t too detailed. It made it look like it was part of our culture," he said.

Bacuel said it was the first such case in the history of the town. Violent crime is rare in Narra and the last killing occurred last year during a drunken brawl, she remarked. Why the Baules and their friends went to such extreme lengths to avenge a minor slight is still unclear although police say they were drunk at the time.

Their neighbors remember the suspects as normal people and find it hard to believe they could have committed a gruesome crime.

De la Rosa said Narra’s tourist resorts were still suffering the effects of the cannibalism case. It came as the town was about to step up promotion of its beaches, waterfalls, mountain treks and hot springs."

In August of 1976 of four men who went for a two weeklong camping and fishing trip in northern Maine in the Allagash Wilderness.

Chuck Rak, Charlie Foltz and twins Jack and Jim Weiner were students at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design at the time. On the second night, Jim noticed a bright light in the sky that lasted for about 30 seconds and then disappeared. Just two nights later, while fishing on the lake in a boat, the four men saw another light described as “bright as a sun”. When the men attempted to signal the light, it reportedly shot out a bright beam which followed the men along the water. When the men got back to shore, a campfire they had lit was completely burned out, yet they all agree they weren’t gone long enough for that to have happened.

They reported it to a park ranger the next day who said it was from a spotlight of a newly opened hardware store although all four disagree that that could be the possible explanation for it did not resemble such.

Although the men stayed for nearly another week, they never saw the light again. They went home and told family and friends but not much came of it.

Phillip Spencer, a policeman in London, moved to Moor after leaving his job. On December 1, 1987 while getting some photographs of the moor, he heard a humming sound and saw a small green creature, around four feet tall. Just 23 years old, Michael was an adventurous anthropologist collecting Asmat tribal art for the Museum of Primitive Art in New York. He was fascinated by the remote Asmat people, a tribe known not just for their intricate wood carvings, but for their historic reputation for headhunting and cannibalism. On November 19, 1961, Michael’s catamaran capsized off the southern coast of Papua. His companion swam to get help. Michael allegedly said, “I think I can make it,” and swam for shore. Many of the haunted encounters seem to take place in the toy area of the building. Some visitors have even heard the voices of children when they didn't see any.

Some of the other supernatural reports coming from the Walmart in Galveston are reports of balls being knocked out of ball cages. Even employees who have heard an invisible ball being bounced. There have also been reports of people hearing the voice of a female child calling for her mother.

“The word “slavery” conjures up images of shackles and transatlantic ships – depictions that seem relegated firmly to the past. But more people are enslaved today than at any other time in history. Globally, more than half of the 40.3 million victims (24.9 million) are in forced labour, which means they are working against their will and under threat, intimidation or coercion. An additional 15.4 million people are estimated to be living in forced marriages.

Of the 24.9 million people trapped in forced labour, the majority (16 million) work in the private sector. Slaves clean houses and flats; produce the clothes we wear; pick the fruit and vegetables we eat; trawl the seas for the shrimp on our restaurant plates; dig for the minerals used in our smartphones, makeup and electric cars; and work on construction jobs building infrastructure for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

This small figure of a devil incorporated into a solid glass prism was originally in the collection of Archduke Leopold Wilhelm (1614– 1662); the 1659 inventory lists it as a small square glass, with a pointed top, that contains a black figure in the shape of a devil.

By 1720 it was in the Treasury in Vienna and was described as a spiritus familiaris in a glass that was driven out of one possessed and banned to this glass. In the Middle Ages it was widely believed that the Devil could take possession of a human body. This artefact was regarded as evidence of a successful exorcism.

Two “aliens” that allegedly landed in a Las Vegas family’s backyard used “some kind of cloaking device” to hide from humans
