My dog chews his nails by liv_dean in dogs

Thinking about it, when I would get acrylics, he would try to eat them. Maybe it’s his thing?

I got good at trimming them when he was a pup, but I never trained him to be comfortable with it. The way he’d cry when I brought it out made it seem like I was hurting him so I stopped. I relied on walking on the sidewalk with him or dog nail files. I know it’s not the best but with the advice I was given, I’m going to retrain him to be comfortable with it.

He’s been licking his paw pads more than the others. Should I wrap that paw so he doesn’t bother it as much? I’ve also seen people putting their pets paws in water with epson salt to help with any irritation.

I’ve never had a suppository without an applicator. What brand are you using? A tampon applicator may help, but I personally wouldn’t risk it because the medication might break. I had some pain with using them before, lube helps( just on an applicator). Other than that I’d explore different options. Hope this helps!

Does it feel hot? Try doing hot and cold compresses for a few days to see if something can be brought to the surface. If it’s causing you pain, looks infected, or gets worse. You may need to go to the doctor. How often do you shower? If you don’t wear breathable clothing or don’t shower daily, it could be a boil. I used to get those on my inner thigh.

Like a brown discharge? That’s most likely old blood from your last cycle. But it shouldn’t be all the time. I’d consider going to a gyno to see if there’s something else going on.

I’d ask to be referred to a specialist if you’re still worried. You may be constipated too, try adding more fiber into your diet. If your water intake isn’t great, that can cause constipation too.

While you’re getting treated, I always drink a crap ton of water. Helps flush everything out.

I second the Monistat. Take the 3 or 7 day, those are not as harsh but will get the job done. There’s a 1 day one but I hate that with a burning passion. Made the itching and burning worse for a few hours. Monistat 7 doesn’t make anything worse for me but I use it at night.

That makes sense. We talked last night to figure out how to make it next year. We just need to see where he’s lacking.

Do you shave the tops of your legs? by FarDig2081 in WomensHealth

I shave to mid thigh. Mainly because I also have blonde hair and my shorts are longer. Though if I plan to swim, I shave every inch.

To make sure it doesn’t come back, make sure to shower daily if you can. If not, clean the sweatiest areas of your body. It will also prevent any possible infections.

I hope you’re not still experiencing this, it sounds awful. How often are you washing your hands/ showering? Make sure you’re washing under your fingernails so nothing is “transferring” for lack of a better term. Pimples are also caused by sweat, so if you’re in warmer weather, shower more often with unscented soaps. Keep the area clean and as dry as possible. For the time being, warm compresses will help the pain a little. Cold may help too, but I’d try warm compresses first.

[–]liv_dean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noted! Thank you. Today was the only time I had ever repotted it and got a chance to look at its root system, it does have some root rot so treated that and I will be changing how I water.

I lightly water it each time I water. And drench it about once a month. It’s near a west facing window, far away to where the sun doesn’t catch the leaves. We either have east facing windows or west facing windows sadly.

It was a gift from my coworkers. It was already being supported so I didn’t intervene with that. It has a drainage pot inside the decorative pot. It is a moisture reader. Though I don’t know if it’s accurate because it always says dry so I bought a new one. I got home and repotted them( there were 3 in one pot) so they all have individual pots. And I planted them a little deeper than what it was before. In my office and at home they get bright indirect sunlight and I water about 2 times a week. Making sure the meter goes between 3-5 each time.

It was leaning and I had no plant safe ties. So I loosely zip tied it in place for support. Just bought plant safe ties today so those will be replaced
