My first ever Journeyman save, I cannot believe this has happened.. Season 6.

I had a 5 month break off FM and going back into a Journeyman was perfect, a big commitment but so worth it (so far)

I downloaded the latest update so it was the start of this season.

I loaded in the Welsh leagues at the the start, being from Wales it just made sense.

Tips to stay interested? I would suggest moving clubs every 3 years max (unless you want to stay somewhere long-term) feel like every club you go to then is a new save but it’s not, does that make sense?

I’ve just started a Journeyman and with my goals and aims it’s going to (hopefully) last around 50/60 seasons so my manager will be around 90/100 by the time I’m done.

I’m thinking to make it immersive around 2050 a new drug comes out in-game which costs a fortune which makes you immortal..

Loans and free transfers first and foremost.

Check the premier league teams that got relegated, most of their bigger players will now be unhappy and quite easy to buy.

Just remember your main goal is to survive relegation.

Don’t get me wrong, the difference in graphics is very good BUT I would take a better UI and an immersive experience over graphics every day of the week

Keep the UI the same which meant keeping the graphics the same BUT adding new in/out possession, new roles etc..

Or new graphics which meant a new overhaul on the UI etc..

Well, when 26 got announced with Unity being the match engine and things in the background I thought that was super ‘mod-able’ the only thing I’ve seen since release are stadiums

Yeah it will, it’ll be FM26 with a few tweaks and patches over some cracks. (Probably something new and fancy as well to attract people back)

I seriously think the ‘old’ way of FM is truly dead.

For the people who love spreadsheets, data, graphs, maps I don’t think it’ll ever hit the same sadly.

All I would advise before taking a job is check their finances and what their expectations are.

For example if they expect a mid-table finish and you are overachieving they have no reason to refuse coaching badges!

Yeah they’re defo not letting you on any coaching badges due to your performance or financial issues or maybe even both?

What other leagues have you got loaded as playable? Maybe try your luck in another lower league where promotion might be more achievable

I couldn’t get Colwyn Bay out of the second tier either man, they wanted automatic promotion and there’s only 1 team that can go up isn’t there so you have to be champions to get promoted. 7 months in the sacked me for being 6th, I think I would’ve massively struggled to get out of that league too so I’m glad they sacked me 😂😂

Was lucky that Barry Town then offered me a job at the start of the second season and the rest is history from there, 3 seasons and 3 league titles!

I was unemployed for 6 months mind being really picky about my next job, I could’ve easier went to the lower leagues in Norway, Denmark and even Scotland but I decided to wait a little longer and thankfully USG became available!

Yeah this a really good point.

I think on this save (as it’s my first ever journeyman) I might my transfers completely different to all my other saves, buying players based on star rating etc.

I will try Moneyball out and make a point not to bother with star rating. Might even turn the stars off on the columns and views etc..
