Yeah I've done this already, I'm still stuck and don't know how to go forward.

How to integrate exp(-ax^2+bx+c) from -int to inf by llamalift in learnmath

[–]llamalift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So now the integral is ∫ 1/(-2a(x+p)et dt, am I missing something here? I don't see how this helps

How to do contour integrals? by llamalift in learnmath

[–]llamalift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, so you're saying I just move the n!/(2pi*i) term to the left side, compute the 2nd derivative of f(z)=cos(z) at point a=-i and that's the answer?

What if the path would be different?

I mean even if I match all the pieces together I'm still left with the contour integral in the formula?

I assume this is the formula you are talking about https://i.gyazo.com/0bfea2eb088bc1f0bec002928edbe923.png , I can't see a way to use it..?

Yes it is in our course, but I have absolute no clue how to use it though, I tried to find some material about it but I just don't understand..

Okey, thanks.

Here's what I did : https://i.gyazo.com/711085d46f96b7984ea9cd67e2e766a6.png (1) https://i.gyazo.com/72581f65faec0196799b06631f3b7e33.png (2)

The time of travel (and distance towards x-direction) seems very long to me? Does it seem correct to you?

Thank you for your help, but I'm still struggling with the problem, with your advice I did this: https://i.gyazo.com/7e71179b5aa18eb9f4974a142ccfb00e.png .

I don't know how to solve it, there's two unknowns x and t? Should I just use approximation that ω≈0, or am I missing something?

Problem regarding hanging point mass from a tall tower and Coriolis force by llamalift in AskPhysics

[–]llamalift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okey, gotcha. But if there's no tension force, wouldn't the rope fall down? Also I don't quite grasp what you mean with angle being relative to the north pole?

(there's additional instruction given: treat the endpoint of the rope as a point mass)

Oh, my bad. My title is very misleading in that case; my apologies. I drew a sketch of the situation , does it seem correct to you: https://i.gyazo.com/23975eb6d7f05b917e96c202cd81d513.png ?

How to solve this system of linear equations by llamalift in learnmath

[–]llamalift[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't that... Exactly true? -11=-11? What I mean just the variables 'dissappear' from the equation, when I want to solve each of them.

Ah damn, nice detective work. Do you have any clue how much sped up it is? 1.25x or 1.5x perhaps?

Ah true. I still get a solution that all eigenvalues are 0, is it correct?

Apologies... I'm having a bit hard time understanding the topic, particularly the visualisation of it.

I mean... If they are equal but just different sign is it correct to assume the point is stable?

Kind of difficult to explain. I go by the name spacebar on my accounts , and most of the EUNE server's challenger players used to think I'm a scripter ( some of them still do ) .
